Your videos are much better than some of the other You-Tube videos of travelling US 1 in the Keys. Some of the others are quite laughable.

Brass Monkey (That funky Monkey) in Marathon, Coconuts and No Name Pub on Big Pine Key are 3 more dive bars that are mostly locals only. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, Clarence Clemons from the E-Street Band used to show up and play from time to time. They also have one of the biggest gatherings--Christmas in July, and New Years in July a week later. There is so much drinking that Monroe County sets up sobriety checks on US1 and pauses almost every driver.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! We have always loved coming Stateside but Retirement plus seven Grandchildren have clipped our wings somewhat! We have spent much of our time over on the West Coast, Having done Florida mainly when the Kids were young. We thought it was about time we revisit Florida for ourselves before the Grand Children start wanting to visit the Mouse and clear out our savings! We do hope to do the 66 when my wife retire in 5-6 years, starting in your hometown of course, which we have yet to visit (We also made friend with a family from your neck of the woods whilst in Palm Springs a while back, so it would be nice to catch up with them one day! I will get around to reading your Novel one day but since Covid / Long Covid I currently get on best with audio books! Is that likely to ever happen? Thanks and very best Regards, Roger.

Hi Dave! I hope you and your Wife are both Hale & Hearty? Eagerly awaiting your second half of your new best Bars in the Keys! Visiting from Uk next May / June, having been once before in 2012. We didn’t really do it justice last time, so have doubled the days there to 12 and are using videos such as yours to make sure we do it right and also get best bang for our bucks! Love your proffesional informative yet light and friendly style, so thank you for sharing you Key Highlights (see what I did there) with us. It’s very much appreciated this side of the Pond as well❤

Thanks, Roger! Much obliged for your kind comments. Anita and I are having fun and heading back to our home city Chicago to visit friends and relations. When we return to South Florida I'll complete the second part. I hope you'll approve of that one, too! Have fun! Our most recent trip was in May, too. Uncharacteristically hot a couple of days but it didn't spoil anything. The heat is why we move from Chicago, after all!

You would have been safe. You arn't gonna see any naked people during the day @ Garden of Eden. After dark on the weekends is the best time lol There have always been more clothed people than naked patrons the handful of times i have gone. Its not nearly as awkward as us normies would expect..

Wonderful video , lots of places I remember visiting when we visited a few years back now . I’m celebrating my 60 year this October also in a similar wrinkled suit I’m hopefully going to return to the keys in January February all being well! Reading through the comments I see several posts about problems playing some films. I have to ask, are you folks cleaning your decades old films before you transfer them? There are various methods for cleaning old media. I deal mostly with audio tape and I often clean my old tapes with a product called Hoppe's 9 Silicone Gun Cloth. Not only does it clean the tape but it also re-lubricates them for smooth playback and improved sound. I strongly suggest looking into proper solutions for cleaning these old films before gunking up your machine with grit, grime, mold, etc. This could be why some machines are malfunctioning.

Last year I started hitting the flea markets again on weekends. I mostly an audio collector, records, tapes, CDs but I have been coming across old films too. Having a fascination with one-of-a-kind recordings I was wondering if such a machine for film was available, and here it is. Thank you for the tutorial.

I don't know the answer to your question. He appeared at a YMCA gathering but many there support the YMCA for the services and fellowship it provides (exercise and sports) rather than the religious component. David spoke of warm memories of the YMCA growing up, but I have no way of knowing his views about religion.
