My mother is from t a k a c h i h o Japan., I found a souvenir that she had that she got from Chilliwack British Columbia.... I wanted to see what the interest might have been for her... There's no doubt in my mind it was spiritual.... Right off the bat... Then I immediately understood her... Quest to take the road trip up to Chilliwack British Columbia

Interesting, I’ve always thought that you had to let the dough rise first if it’s going to be fried/baked immediately. Good to know it doesn’t need to rise first! Thanks for sharing!

I first knew about her in the movie: "Shadow of the Hawk" with Chief Dan George. The way she was depicted in that movie terrified me but kept me fascinated since I was a kid. Thank you!

I had a dream of an Old man bear spirit. He had a pale face and white hair. He chased after me thinking he was a bear making popping sounds with his teeth and moaning like a bear. Then a child appeared with black hair and the old man bear spirit and the boy were chewing on like a black leach from one end to the other untill the old man bear spirit consumed the child. The boy and the old man were one, the same person. The boy was the man the man was the boy never to really get too old or die as there was youth on his side from the child..I still try to figure out this dream or make sense of it.. Maybe the Dzunukwa was a crazy dream also?

Just wondering if the person telling this story is Kwakiutl and what his name is? I might just be missing it, but I don't see any credits given and was hoping to cite him.

It's awesome to see the Okanagan People embracing the land in utilizing it for vitaculture and tourism. The Okanagan is beautiful, and warm, many tourists might not understand that 7-8 months of the year it's warm and wine country. It seems the funds the community earns are poured back into the community to enrich the youth and that's important. You can have business and sustainability.
