so I found it easy to do this at high speed and don't feel like it's helping me to make progress on the other trills Im working on in Mozarts sonata no 16 in C. I am very inconsistent when plying the first trill in the piece (haven't even gotten to later trills yet) any advice?
@LearnItPiano Жыл бұрын
hi, yes many trills are different. This example is just a basic one. For different trills the logic is the same, go super slow and build up the speed each day. It’s like working out at the gym, sometimes it can take weeks for those muscles to build up and perform the way you want.

According to Steve Porcaro, the original sound was a Farfisa organ. The producer wanted the organ rhythm tightly synced to the drums. The drummer Jeff Porcaro never wanted to play to a click. So the engineer took a sync tone from the multitrack drum recordings and saved it to a Linn Drum machine. Steve Porcaro programmed a cow bell pattern on the Linn to match the pattern they wanted the organ to have. They fed the Farfisa through a VCA gate compressor so the gate was opening and closing with the cowbell pattern, which was fluctuating with the drum sync. Steve just had to hold a chord on the organ and the gate would nail the rhythm. It's nearly impossible to get the pattern played live because it's not matching how the gate was reacting to Jeff Porcaro's drumming. Steve also told Don Henley about a brand new sample synth device at the time called an E-Mu that he had ideas for the track, but there were only about seven in existence and he didn't know how to acquire one. Henley somehow got one only days later and Steve used that for the typing sounds and they fed the background vocals into that.

that’s really cool, thanks for that info i didn’t know. my first ever gig i played was Summerfest in Milwaukee and we did this song and it always bothered me that my patch wasn’t right. Why i came back to it years later and mixed this one ☝️

What's also worth mentioning - Pete Townshend - brainchild of The Who - essentially invented this process of triggering an organ to play "in time with the band" but with a gated square wave running the singal through in this case an analog (Arp?) filter roughly 11 years earlier with 1971's release - "Won't Get Fooled Again".

This is killer. If, when I learn how to send the reaper files, would you lay this down over my tracks? I would do the drums and bass, all acoustic and then sing it and do the lead after the synth is in. I live in fuckin Nebraska and don't have anyone to play with so I'm just looking around for folks who can play the instruments I cant.
