Does it work in the normal game so 1x scale? And do you use FMRS or how do you get the second stage into orbit?

Yes, it should. for Stage 2 at the moment you can't use FMRS so you have to launch again and just stay with stage 2's craft

Its because KSP was designed poorly, and cant run very well as it's single threaded so physics lacks in speed while the FPS are fine
