I remember the "Bridge" because I used to be a huge Mega Man nerd when I was little and browsed MMKB for hours. This guy is especially notable for being one of the few things to lack an official name, so naturally it fascinated my little kid brain. Though I was confused why it was given such a name, given it doesn't look like it's connecting two landmasses... (I didn't know English very well back then; didn't know bridge could also mean that part of the ship 😅) Also it looks way cooler with that pink eye :p

there are a few teleporter rooms based on weapon order, mega man 2 and 3 come to mind (3 also features the weapon order in the same order as the robot master numbers) if you ever wanted to save pharaoh shot ammo, the bridge is weak to a ton of weapons, like beat, power stone, napalm bomb, and ballade cracker (ironically enough it uses those against you). the hunters are also weak to napalm bomb and beat. i admittedly didn’t have a problem with the capsule, although pharaoh shot melts it in 4 fully charged blasts, so it’s not a big deal lol

I am endlessly amused by the concept of a "secret" space ship. Yes, Wily was just hiding an entire off-planet vessel in his back pocket, you know, as one does. Proto Man and Eddie will never drop an S Tank. If you're lucky, Proto Man may drop an S item that acts as a full restore (which this version reskinned to a Yashichi - which makes more sense IMO), but this is instant-use, not something you can carry with you. MAGMML3 is huge for sure. I'm still working through it myself - I've only gotten through Tier 9 on uploads, and not all the way through 14 yet on recordings. Though admittedly I've been sluggish the past couple months on recording.

so apparently ballade's weapon is triggering a swear filter for my comment for some reason. this website is totally functional and not a dystopian corporate nightmare ran by half functioning robots no sir The Bridge boss is kind of interesting in that it can actually use quite a number of special weapons on you, most bizarrely being Ballade's weapon. Very curious. I've always been intrigued by bosses that can literally use your own arsenal against you. Even if the actual execution here is very lacking lol Y'know, seeing how many features this game actually introduced is... Wild. Not bad for a third party developer. This is a smashing little game though. I think the main problem is it's kind of got a lackluster special weapon set. Mostly because it either pulls from some bad special weapons in general (pretty much all of the MM5 weapons) or they've been brokenly nerfed (Toad Flush). That just leaves four weapons you'll actually use outside of weakness stuff/situational stuff (see final boss). The best weapon in the game is saved for the last two stages period so you barely get time to use it. Still this is a great little game. Actually incredible how much they got in this little basic Gameboy game. Honestly with how gargantuan MAGMML3 is don't feel too obligated to actually LP it. It seems very LP unfriendly thanks to the sheer amount of stuff in it.

Crystal Man's stage is the one thing that I feel holds this game back. Now, I know you don't agree with the reputation, but here's the rub: you played this fully for the first time with years of experience under your belt. Now, me? This was the first Mega Man game I owned, and it came back when I was about 6 or 7, prior to my gaining any real adeptness at games (I played and enjoyed them, but I wasn't GOOD at them). I'd dabbled briefly with the NES games at the time through Blockbuster rentals (just to properly date myself), but this was the first one I actually owned myself. And I NEVER beat it back in the day - and it was purely because of this stage, and specifically because of the pillar rooms (kid me didn't know there was a split path, either). Those rooms are a menace to anyone who isn't experienced enough to keep a cool head. Contrast this to World 5 which I got months later, which despite a bit of frustration trying to hit Hyooey in Neptune's stage, I was able to beat it even back then without much trouble. Now, many years and much more experience and ability on, it's not THAT bad. Some of the ROM hacks I've played make that look like an early childhood game. But it's basically the difference between the game being entirely accessible for a relative novice and...well, not.
@JupiHornet110 күн бұрын
Yeah, I said this in the video but I can imagine that stage being a problem for blind players

It's actually impressive how innovative this game was. The first to introduce a shop, which would become a standard in the Classic series before long. The first to really introduce special weapons having environmental effects. The first with stylized cutscenes. The charge shot recoil, which remains unique to this installment. Ring Boomerang's added utility. A lot of little touches that give you the feeling like they really put a lot of effort into making this more than just a retread of the NES games. I'd say it's better than World 5 if not for one particular stage that I think holds it back.

They really should've used the scrapped version of the fortress boss theme for the satellite dish and bridge defense (from later in the game). It sounds less intense but still cool, plus it would make the final battle feel even better. The color scheme for the first boss however is really good. Love the nighttime aesthetic. Napalm Man - now with actual napalm! Though iirc napalm can't be doused with water, so I doubt Rain Flush's acid rain would do it. 😅 Man the devs really liked that falling rock gimmick, didn't they? In my opinion Crystal man stage only need droppers MAYBE with falling platforms delete bonus path or make there small way foward and back for something (like WILY emblems) then in main path show third gimmick. 3.Napalm bomb-deals more damage than ring boomerang dealing 1 or 2 damage so it for big or down there enemies. Power stone-easier to hit enemies with it and good dealing with bosses like ballade and first phase of wily golem. Crystal Eye-..... I actually like the recoil. It's my opinion that the Charge Shot is way too powerful in most games (there's pretty much no reason not to have it going at literally any time and in SOME games it outdamages pretty much the entire weapon set as well) so whenever a game nerfs it that makes me happy. I was probably one of the few people who cheered when he saw that 9 + 10 removed it. (Although removing the slide was stupid.)
