those strings in the back are very reminiscent (ha) of flashback.ogg and it really threw me off. A mix of two really scary tracks from Undertale (The piano is basically just a happier version of Premonition) and Deltarune (flashback.ogg... and kind of THE HOLY with those flutes, though flashback already contains a bit of that song UGH TOBY FOX💔💔) making this really emotional track that feels more like the chapter select music for some new game+ after getting to the innevitably emotional and sad ending, is kind of like... foreshadowing? In a way. If you finish the game and it boots you back to this music, youd know exactly why. Its got a bunch of secret motifs nobody really thinks about that are secretly building up in the background of these games and eventually it's gonna hit like a truck.

Hey guys it's Marsh, so I'm convinced Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei for the Famicom, is actually brainwashing software disguised as a video game. I've been grinding for like 2 days straight, ok. Just to get strong enough to fight the boss in this section. Now the game's in a foreign language, alright I'm tired, I feel like I've been drugged, ass pounded and, left in a dirty bathroom in Shanghai. This little puke colored room is just going to be burned into my mind forever. Here's the deal, there's this Rag shop here right, you know this little bastard Rag, you know him. He takes your gems and you can get items, now this is a little known Megami Tensei lore fact, but Rag is a lazy piece of shit, because you can literally take two steps outside his shop and there's this giant pile of gems, and this little nub just keeps taking them. This game might as well be a medieval peasant mining simulator, because 60% of the time I'm just grabbing rocks and shoving them up Rag's ass for more health items. This room is perfect for grinding, like you do some battles, you grab a crystal, you trade it to Rag for some health, rinse And repeat. Except I've been rinsing and repeating for like 8 hours and my hands are about to fall off! I swear this game has permanently changed the chemicals in my brain, like I've been mentally reprogrammed to think auto-battling the same demons for hours on end is fun. I've become like a Japanese sleeper agent, by the time I'm done if I ever see gems again, say I'm walking, down the street in real life and I see a jewelry store, I'm just going to ape the fuck out and start climbing on the walls. Listen you don't want to be in this situation, I don't know why I keep going. It's like, do I hate myself? Am I trying to prove something? Or deep down, do I secretly like all this? I don't know man, I just don't know anymore ok. Anyway that being said, pretty fun game, I think you should give it a try. Thanks for watching and see you all next time.

There’s two Deltarune songs I need to listen to with headphones and immerse myself into whenever I hear them and that’s this song and THE HOLY. Both songs give me this sense of calm but also a feeling of purpose or of a greater power in place. A feeling that this journey we are going through has meaning, and that even if our control over this story and over Kris may be unnatural and strange, it will lead to a good ending some way or another. On another note, I would like to point out that the flutes in this song and the initial melody in THE HOLY share the same motif(?). I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but I feel like that simple two note melody is what gives me that feeling of a greater power and purpose.

This feels like something that was made specifically for me, and only me. It'll play in my head ad infinitum until the day Kaizack dies and our universe is smeared from existence. Best shop theme in any game period, I'd go as far to say. Perhaps the single best thing to come out of the Hydlide franchise? Either way, props to you for making this. I know we only have up to chapter 2 right now but…, I really don’t want this game to end. What saddens me is that at some point, Susie is gonna come to the realization that everything is just an imagination, whether she finds out or Kris will tell her, there are many hints that these worlds are imaginary. It makes me wonder how she’ll react.

I'm crying 😭 this song hits different than the rest of Deltarune soundtrack.

I love the instruments of the arcade one but it's so short it sounds as if the melody ends just when it starts getting interesting. This arranged version is way more interesting and epic but with the arcade instruments, it would have been better (to my ears).
