I would purely love to drive Caterham in some curvy backroads! Good job, it looked like you moving pretty rapidly.

I was just spectating so can’t take credit for the driving. Caterhams are fantastic on curvy roads! Thanks for watching!

I was always wondering why we don't see more of these in hillclimbs. To my mind, they are ideal for this type of the sport.
@antoncarmoducchi6057Ай бұрын
They are very light and as a result quite unforgiving.
@spyroscharalambidis7907Ай бұрын
@antoncarmoducchi6057 On the one hand, lightness is an asset, but yes, I understand, especially these cars can be very dangerous if control is lost.

Nice , how much does it weigh (pounds, please)? Front lower "A" arms taped for smoother air flow?
@raylohr87882 ай бұрын
485 kg = 1067 lb dry weight, and 580 kg = 1276 lb on the line with driver and 4l of 100 octane fuel. Yes, the taping of the wishbones and inner front cycle wings is for drag reduction along with a flat floor. I have owned and built / rebuilt this car and engine for 29 years now.

Hi Ray, Thank you for your responding to the viewers question, it was great watching you take the Seven up the hill! You must have many memories over 29 years of ownership!

I have had my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto for 40 years. Vintage British motorcycles can be every day riders but they won't stay pretty. I commuted on mine for 30 years. Made riding to work a pleasure.

Excellent. BTW do internet search:"prisoner+unmutual". This website is prob now the leader in data on that hugely influential and mega cult, late 1960s TV show. It incl info on the regular FREE location tours (2 pa in central London and occ ones in Elstree + Borehamwood). The latter, just north of London and the UKs Hollywood, is where most of the series was filmed. The NW Wales and wonderful village of Portmeirion was actually onlu used in 2 "shoots"...BCNU

I ride that one fast most of the time. It has a big bore kit. Built the engine after a crank failure an 2010 and its been running well now. Next Summer, i am going to take a longer run on the fast road so i can here it at 100 mph indicated speed. Not normally run at more than 90 but it will reach 100 for short bursts. The worry is the very old engine components.@@Chicane500

@@Chicane500 In the right hands it is a fearsome machine. I had never seen a CanAm car in the flesh until the ISSC series back in the late 90s. Chris Chiles took the mighty March to championship victory with 14 poles, 14 fastest laps, 14 wins. This 717, back then with the earlier 'hammerhead' front end bodywork, dark blue base colour and colourful 'flame' graphics has been my favourite race car ever since, along with the red STP liveried 707 of Charlie Agg. Amazing machines.

// the _Urraco_ , the _MERAK/BORA_ , the _LOTUS Esprit_ , the _308GTB_ , the _M1_ , and the 911 _turbo_ are (for me) the most beautiful cars of the 70s with a 4/6/8 cylinder engine. Beautiful and timeless design. It doesn't always have to be a V12. Even the slightly smaller sports cars are beautiful and desirable. The _Urraco_ looks most beautiful in silver grey. Don't know if it's that exact bumper but I have one off Alan Strachan's Mondeo, picked it off an industrial estate in December 2019. Strachan's team had moved out of the unit and left it behind as a planter, full of soil and breeze blocks. Brought it home, have had it sat in the shed ever since, just now giving it a proper wash.
