There are better homes in San Jose for that price. My house in Hayward has better layout, but one (bed)room less, thus a smaller sq-footage living space and similar lot size. And you can buy similar homes for $300k less.

Hi amanda, you shouldve talked about how much those engineers take home after taxes. Approx how much does someone who make say 120k (which is above avg according to your source) pocket after taxes? I think those folks are caught in the middle as it doesnt make sense to rent, nor can they purchase a home w/o the help from their parents.

We had a relative move out here to work at Intel, came from back east. The salary was fantastic to them. They were here about 6 months, renting and looking for a house. In the end, they decided that on balance, they were making less than back east after expenses, so quit the valley and moved back.

I don't often share my opinion because people hate trolls. I hope this won't come across that way. I live in Asana and II feel your series on Asana doesn't cover the bones of the homes the community very well and therefore does little to help the watcher understand the properties. The gentleman spends all his time focusing the watcher's attention on the "add ons" and the beautiful staging in the model homes but doesn't talk at all about the practical parts that owners will have to live with. He doesn't cover usability of the homes at all. Watchers don't get to see the exterior of the specific house model he's showing. He never shows the garage, side yards, the street parking, solar systems, water heaters, shower/bath interiors, closet interiors, etc. More of this type of information is considered by buyer when making a purchase than the color of the tiles, wood panelling or carpet choice in any particular home. Also, the practical info would be more objective because only a small few of the homes have elevators, or Mediterranean blue tiles, etc.

Worthless house. Extremely dangerous to live in. Zero security elements integrated into the property. No mention of property taxes. Finally, It's located in California. A whole state in decline.
