@DIGGINGDEEP007

@@old1234 I think I’m good to about 6 to 7hp. I’m trying to find a bigger roller/flywheel sprocket. They have bigger saw mill ones, just have to get my hands on one. Also, I’m already piecing together a build with a larger axle. Being it’s an inertia I’m going to start revving out too fast with anything above 7 to 8hp making the results inaccurate.

The port timing isn't why that bike lacks frontside power. The port timing is actually a little conservative for the tune (rpm) of the pipe. The exhaust a little more so than the transfer timing. I would shoot for about 192° on the exhaust & widen it. Then raise the jug via gasket to get 130° transfers & 194° exhaust. This would at least set the port timing to be in harmony with the pipe. What meeds to he done for the front side power gains are something I'm reserved on saying as I build engines. Typically the bigger 500 2strokes & a LOT of oval & drag sled stuff.
@DIGGINGDEEP007

@@keithpeterson6108 the last one I did, I raised the exhaust roof and it was very peaky. I’m trying to make this bike, more rideable in a tight track/woods. As Gorr states the combination of radical port timing and high gearing. I want quicker response out of type turns. Thanks for the great info and thanks for watching!!!
@keithpeterson6108
@keithpeterson6108 17 күн бұрын
@DIGGINGDEEP007 The port timing (more so on the exhaust) is actually low for the rpm the pipe is tuned for. The engine didn't get more peaky, it just came alive more on the upper mid on up. It's like holding a powervalve back & opening it later. There is no more power but there is a sudden hit when the valves pop open. Not a good delivery but there are many bikes that have that sort of setup. The yz85 has other trh8ngs that need to he done to get that frontside. You can cut the base but that will cost you up top.doing things right, you can get more bottom along with the top. So a wider overall powerband. Those little 80's & 85's are all up top. Even the rm makes it power up top. The moves Gorr suggests aren't the best. Check out Kaplan cycles & type in Keith Peterson cr500 or kx500.

@@DIGGINGDEEP007 All good bud. Shoot for a 32° blow down on it. & widen the exhaust. Make marks before you start so you can keep symmetry.. use a bigger diameter spiral to keep the radius consistent from side to side as well. I'd send you some photos on what I'd suggest but can't here. You'd need to split the engine as well. So a little more labor intensive but it will accomplish what you're after. In 2004, suszuki lengthened the rod on the rm 125. It didn't make any more power than before but it killed any trace of midrange. It only made power near max revs & again, it wasn't like it was a powerhouse. Just a poor powerband. When I was done with it, the thing had a 2300rpm range where it was over 15ft/lbs of torque (max of 17.8) & revved u til the cows came home as well. It was waaaay better, much easier to ride & was actually faster than the 250f's. Tedious work but we'll worth it

Found this while searching for any kind of info about the 1980 Motorama. I won the 125B class that year (the 2nd annual) and recently dug that trophy out of the attic and put it on display in my man room. Hi i just came across this. How does your 350 sxf do power wheelies so easy. And mine doesnt. I have a 2018 husqvarna fc350 with a full fmf on. Ive gave it all the beans as fast as i can. And it just spins. It'll come up in 1st obviously but the other gears it wont. Also i have a other issue too. My fc350 seems to do a quick bog when i go full throttle not only riding but when idling too. And its getting annoying. Do you maybe know any way i can fix it?

@@JOEMAMA.95 Yea, good question! If I were to guess maybe in the mapping and or tune. Suspension setups could make a difference as well. This bike would 100% pull up 1st thur 3rd just ripping into the throttle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

@DIGGINGDEEP007 I do have a map switch, but I can't go between 1-2. My tc was on tho. I've seen guys changing the mapping without a map switch like a know thing.
