I understand the Fiona/Lip relationship. Always some sort of discord bc of the dynamic in our family. Plus him being the older boy and me being the older girl. As hard as I tried I was never good enough for my family or him, I was the scapegoat and he was the golden child. His bare minimum was always enough, my all was always never noticed. His mess ups were always understood (even by me) and I was always crucified.

Yeah, I feel people tend to forget that he was also a trainwreck? Like yeah, Fiona isn't this stand up citizen and her actions shouldn't be glossed over, but who the fuck is glossing over it? It wasn't just him giving her a hard time too. Debbie loved to shit down her throat any chance she got when neither one of them have ROOM TO TALK. YES, it was her coke, she left it out. It was horrible. Not excusable in the slightest. Doesn't mean Lip or any other character should have it easier. What really pisses me off about Lip is acting as if he's the only one holding it all together when it was in fact Fiona, Debbie (when she was younger at least), and even Carl. But damn, she sacrificed so much for them and this is the thanks she gets? Not even trying to relate to the other, talk it out, and find the solution? Nope. I'm just going to scream and push you around because that's going to solve things. For someone who could've had a better life and was a fuckin' genius, he sure fucked up his life quickly. And blaming her for his sponsee getting drunk is just braindead and idiotic. smh You just said in an earlier scene/episode to her friend after she said she brought the vodka while the dinner was burning, "You didn't pour it down her throat." So the same shit applies to the sponsee. It was HIS CHOICE. FIONA DIDN'T KNOW. Like shut the fuck up? 💀

Why is everybody defending Fiona in the comments and blaming Lip for getting angry at her when she was being stupid about everything? Fiona should have known to not leave drugs out, in a lot of ways she was like her parents even if she didn't want to admit it. Yes I get it, Lip could be arrogant at times, and he was close to becoming like Frank but he turned it around. But he was right about almost everything, he was smart, honest, brilliant, factual, and logical! the only smart and mature character in that show I liked. I do respect Fiona for what she did for her siblings but she still made mistakes and failed simultaneously over and over again until she left.

Growing up is realizing that while Fiona was a lot better than Frank or Monica, and did a lot for the kids to help them thrive, the moment Liam ate coke and almost died was the moment Lip had every right to call her out… Just like when she called out Frank for Ian’s fever. Was she better? Yes, but that is not a far stretch and Liam almost died. At that point, she became a hypocrite. Lip was not ungrateful. He was rightfully angry. I don’t get how people don’t see this. She should not have had to do it, but when she said she would care for them, she took on the responsibility to not f up like Frank.

Exactly, she accepted the responsibility for raising them and legally became Liam’s guardian. Lip was an asshole to her but everything he said was still true even if he was being a hypocrite at times

When Fiona was getting Drunk Lip was so out of pocket. He finally started seeing what Fiona had been going through and couldn't handle it. Her whole life has been about them so sue her if she wants to relax a little shes young too

This show is not about fault to be pointed at 1 or 2 people its about the struggle of growing up in a tough environment that u didnt choose.. dont waste time thinking about whos at fault the person at fault is the system that created families like this by arresting their parents and their grandparents all for trying to survive.. the aftermath is the show and its very real most people juat dont have to live it...

Maturing is realizing that Liam getting into the drugs WAS Fionas fault, but it’s also realizing that she made a mistake, a horrible one, that she was so sorry for that she learned from it and never made it again. Maturing is understanding she did wrong and forgiving her for it.

Yes, it was without a doubt her mistake. Matter of fact, she made a lot of big mistakes in a row. But in context, Lip was wrong. Throughout the series, all characters made huge mistakes and she was the one that had their back no matter what. She was the one that held them all together, working several jobs, giving up her own life to allow them to have theirs. But the first time the situation was reversed, lip didn't wait a second to put all the blame on her and offer no help at all. Debbie was exactly like this as well, especially at that episode that Fiona gets her a job interview.

The moment Fiona started putting herself first she got her life together, made a lot of money and . At the same time, Lip dropped out of school, became an alcoholic, and ended up frustrated at a regular job.

To the two above, LIAM ALMOST DIED FROM HER COCAINE Lip was an alcoholic, but from what I remember, he never drove his siblings anywhere while drunk. He was hurting himself. He was messing up his own life. Fiona nearly killed one of her kids. Her addiction, just like Frank, led to her making choices that one of the kids she needed to care for at deaths door… Because she got in front of a judge and said she would do better. She said Frank left Ian to die for his addiction, and then she almost killed Liam with hers.

They never did right by liam, this show is a fine example of why the foster system is absolutely necessary. That baby did not deserve the life he got. Manipulative, narcissistic sisters, reckless, selfish brothers and deadbeat loser parents that let him almost die on regular occasions. But god i love this show

@@marianafeliciano6601yes, but the real fault was the parents’, like obviously teens or tweens are going to be extremely immature about how to create a life for the younger ones, Fiona and Lip barely got to mess up and enjoy their own lives to help the others. Lip did so much and sacrificed a lot to get a degree AND care for everyone, same, if not more for Fiona, so I guess it’s normal to act irresponsibly or immaturely.
