I wish I could've met him. He was and is one of my favourite actors. 2016 was a horrible year. We lost Alan Rickman, David Bowie and Victoria Wood.

The reason some stars won't sign is because people are just turning around and selling them for ridiculous amounts of money. Shatner is actually helping fans not get ripped off.

I actually think he's awesome. I'd much rather have a chance to just chat with him than get an autograph. To be who he is, you can tell that he genuinely likes people and likes talking... he just likes to know that his time is going to genuine fans instead of autograph sellers.

He seems really nice. I don't think any less of him either because he doesn't sign for free. At least that prevents people from making money off his fame. He's always making appearances at shows. He's always signing for charity too. I don't think any other actor does more autograph shows than Shatner.

But there's a reason he won't sign for free. Most of them are just going to sell them on eBay the next day. But at least he's always doing shows and I heard people that join his fan club get an autograph.

It doesn't matter if you paid money to see him: nobody forced you to. You did it for YOUR benefit. Autographs are childish anyway, unless of course you are just getting the autograph in order to sell it. And many of these "fans" are doing just that. If I were him I'd only sign autographs for kids under the age of 12. And I'd insist on personalizing all the autographs.

Your big role would have been playing Ben Cartwright's attorney in a spinoff of Bonanza called Ponderosa Legal. If you become celebrity please note: you are required to sign your name for anyone who asks you to for the rest of your life. Even if you are nice enough to talk to fans after a show and you are in your fucking 80s, this is not enough. Sign or be damned by society. Fair?
