Hola @pablogranadossalcido9238, La bomba SCALA1, es una bomba de velocidad fija donde no puede regularse la presión de salida, pero si viene en 5 modelos para que elijas el adecuado a tu instalación, el modelo 5-55 es el de mayor caudal y presión. 55 se refiere a que entrega 5,5 kg de presión lo cual para un solo hogar, obviamente dependiendo del tamaño del mismo, en general es mucho. Es decir, que el equipo podría estar sobredimensionado para tu hogar y por eso tener exceso de presión. Por eso en Grundfos siempre les recomendamos hacer las consultas a los instaladores profesionales para que les recomienden el equipo correcto según donde lo vayan a instalar. La bomba SCALA2, es una bomba de velocidad variable, es decir que el motor ajusta su velocidad a la presión y el caudal requerido y por ende, solo en la SCALA2 es posible regular la presión de salida a través de su panel de control. Hey there, if you are referring to hot water bleeding over to the cold side at the tap where a comfort valve is installed, then yes, the water is safe to drink. The pump should be installed on the hot water line and is not involved in mixing water from the hot and cold lines. Hope that helps! -Ty

@@grundfosThank you! Yes I was told by a plumber that you should not drink water coming from your water heater because of the contaminants in the water heater tank. That being said I was concerned where the warm water travels down the cold water line at the comfort valve that those contaminants are now being transferred to the cold water line.

Hello, thank you for reaching out. There were some quality issues on earlier models that have since been addressed as of production models from the last week of 2019. So any SCALA2 with a number higher than 1952 (year and week number) on the name plate has all previous quality issues fixed. Hey there! It's not necessarily a newer pump, they are just different depending on the installation needs, such as sizing and if the application has a dedicated return line or not. The Comfort 10-16 is for systems with a dedicated return line, whereas the Comfort System (GRU-595916) is for retrofit applications that do not have a dedicated return line. Hope that helps! -Ty

The new Scala2 pump exhibited the same persistent issues as its predecessors. Avoid purchasing this model; its documented lifespan is only two to three years.

¡Hola! No hay un estimado estipulado, sin embargo, dependerá de la calidad de agua con la que esté operando el equipo. Podemos recomendarte que una vez al año, revises el sensor para evitar que tenga obstrucción de sarro y verificar que el interruptor tenga buena movilidad. Adicionalmente para la instalación, te podemos recomendar el uso de un filtro en “Y” para evitar el ingreso de alguna partícula que pueda obstruir el movimiento del sensor.

Hi @jockgrieger3326, great question. The answer is yes and no. If you've set the pump up to restart automatically after an alarm it will try and re-prime itself but if it you haven't set this up (so the pump is on the default setting) then it will not re-prime itself. The other factor is whether the pump is dealing with positive inlet pressure or negative inlet pressure. If the water source is below the level of the pump it won't be able to draw water to re-prime itself and will need to be manually primed by pouring water in the top. Hope that all make sense but although it would seem to be a simple question, there are a number of variables at play in the answer. Kind Regards, Aaron
