I refuse to ride the bus (despite this convenience) if they're giving belligerent, drunk, inconsiderate, broke, violent, obnoxious, people free rides.

Thank you! A thirty minute walk from my destination, I noticed the back wheel was woobling. Flat tire. Haven't yet purchased a tire repair kit or pump. Had to walk the bicycle while running errands. In the next town over. Two hour walk home. Doable but would rather ride the bus. Bus arrives in fifteen minutes. Realized I didn't know how to use the rack. Just hope the bus has one. Some of our city buses do not. Thanks again.

Go Triangle Commuter rail completion: unknown
@Zero-Gravity-Ind2 жыл бұрын
I've always maintained that I love driving, at high speeds. That isn't how we get to drive in most of NC. So bring on more trains. Commuter rail and light rail please. Plus yeah, it you have to take 30 minutes to go somewhere slowly, at least let me read, work, or play my switch. Although that guy talking on the phone on the train reminded me that making sound on a train should basically be illegal lol.
@GoTriangle2 жыл бұрын
Knowing that we'd be talking on the train for the video we sought out a train car that was empty and got lucky. So thankfully no one was disrupted by our video that day.

The buses say Wake County I assume that's Raleigh NC, yet every person talking is referring to the DC area.

We interviewed riders and showcased buses outside of our region in an effort to showcase how well BRT works for other regions. At the time of recording this video, we were heavily marketing bringing BRT to Raleigh, NC.

Where is the accuracy in the population data? The Triangle has 1.7M people if you only count Wake, Durham & Johnston Counties. What about the other counties? Morrisville already exceeds the stated 2035 projection, and Clayton's 2020 is short as well, yet Raleigh's 2020 population is overstated. This is sloppy data reporting. The demand for infrastructure comes from the entire Triangle, not just the counties a rail is going to pass through. Report the Triangle's total numbers, north of 2.1M now, if you want to bring rail funding to a higher visibility.
@GoTriangle2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, At the time of this video's publication, the 2020 census data had not yet published and we had to use estimated statistics from a combination of city & NC OSBM provided statistics. For the purposes of this video, we specifically wanted to highlight regions where the rail would directly pass though, but you are correct that the impacts would be felt positively throughout the greater Triangle region.
@sharonschneider30172 жыл бұрын
Great news! Let's do it!! I live in Clayton and would enjoy traveling by trail. Johnston County will need to invest in bus services instead of large areas of unsightly parking lots near trail stations. And don't forget Selma. Growth in eastern Johnston county is on the move. Whoopie!!!

@GoTriangle2 жыл бұрын
Hi Remington, at this time all fixed-route service from GoTriangle, GoDurham, GoRaleigh, and GoCary are fare-free. July 1 marks the new fiscal year, so you may want to check the individual agencies websites for any potential updates around that time.
@juliansodano10102 жыл бұрын
I hate to say this but 45 minutes to get from Durham to Raleigh?? That is insane? Who is telling you that this is "fast"? This rail should make commuting from Clayton to Durham 45 minutes. I believe once that is available then will this rail system become feasible. The rail should additionally extend through Chapel Hill and Chatham County providing access from across the region to the cities, universities, healthcare and offices alike.

If it runs in mixed traffic, it is NOT BRT. Why is this so hard to understand?
@siphesihlegift74094 ай бұрын
SOMETIMES it runs in mixed traffic when the main dedicated route is affected for whatever reason, be maybe it construction, repair, protests, etc. unlike rail which has to suspend its services if the main route is affected, making brt better then rail
