Oh yes as a practitioner of combat sambo myself I love seeing different and unique styles represented in video games that Russian military guy from DOA is my favourite yes his name will come up no I didn't watch the video before writing this bayman that's what that man's name was legend you seem to do a lot of fighting game stuff you earned a sub from that alone

I often get confused/mixed up to know the difference between Sambo & Judo especially when Abel was introdued in SF4 cause I thought his attire was Judo coated. Could you do MMA next, it has become a popular sport in the UFC and it has now finally been added in fighting games such as Street Fighter and Tekken witv Luke and Azucena.
@Blackmore2323Күн бұрын
I can definitely add MMA to the fighting style variants I'll be covering in future episodes 😁. I feel it would be a interesting deep dive.

All these leg locks are bc it may slow down your enemies in war if u manage to incapacitate one of them. It would be required 2 other guys to carry him out of fire. Brutal, but very lógical

I think Combat Sambo at the Moment is the Style that allows the most Techniques in Competition and therefore is closest to a "real" Fight.

I wished I still have contact to my old MMA/Muay Thai trainer to bring him for a podcast, he was a beast of a fighter and could tell a lots of interessting stories all around Thailand and Muay Thai. Miss that time in the Dojo. Oh yeah and I think Sagat still one of the most iconic fighters for representing Muay Thai ^^

Pretty good video, but I wanted to point out a couple things. Firstly, with Portuguese, R is usually pronounced as an H, so roda would be pronounced ho-da, and Regional is pronounced Hay-jo-nal. Secondly, as the styles developed, there have been further splinterings and refinements. There are those who feel Capoeira Regional became a bit more focused on the performative side of the art, with an emphasis on floreos, as demos tend to be more eye catching (granted that depends on who you're talking to and what mestre you're learning from). This has lead to styles such as Capoeira Abata under Mestre Camisa, which further emphasizes practical application and self defense. (I studied it for about two years before the classes were shut down due to lack of interest.) Honestly, this is still one of the better deep dives into Capoeira in fighting games that I've seen, so well done.

@@Scrubermensch Chae Lim (KOF Maximum Impact) and Yungmie (Fighter's History) are my favorite taekwondo fighters I would like to know what style of taekwondo they represent By the way, there is fighting game called 'Fight Fever', who was released on the NEO GEO in 1994 It was made by a korean company called VICCOM, a company that was founded by a man named Kim Kaphwan The plot of Fight Fever is about a tournament to find out who is the best taekwondo fighter. Supposedly all the characters practice taekwondo...except characters like Nick Commando and Golrio 😅
@Scrubermensch7 күн бұрын
@meganinten0078 I don't think Yungmie is a TKD fighter, her outfit has a sash which is the Kung Fu equivalent of a belt, maybe I'm wrong. Wow never knew about the real life Kim, good to know!
@meganinten00787 күн бұрын
The real Kim Kaphwan distributed NEO GEO arcade machines in South Korea As I said, he founded VICCOM SNK and VICCOM had a close relationship in the 90s, in fact it was Kim Kaphwan who asked SNK to make a character who practices taekwondo and that is how we get the first taekwondo fighter in fighting games, the justice zealot from Fatal Fury, named after the real Kim Kaphwan Another insteresting thing about the real Kim Kaphwan is that he helped to make taekwondo popular in Korea, and even helped to put that martial art in the Olimpic Games Kim Kaphwan had a younger brother named Kim Dong Hwan; and a son named Kim Jae Hoon. Yes, SNK named their korean characters after family members of Kim Kaphwan The real Kim Kaphwan died in 2018 at the age of 82, he loved arcade games and taekwondo RIP 🥲🫡 @@Scrubermensch

@Scrubermensch People who practices taekwondo should know more about Kim Kaphwan He helped to make TKD very popular He suggested SNK to create a TKD character, and that is how we got Kim Kaphwan from Fatal Fury/KOF, the first TKD character in fighting games He also helped to put TDK in the Olympic Games RIP Kim Kaphwan 🥲🫡 He left this world in 2018 at 82 years old Thanks for everything
