I did. I used the factory truck pan. It's a little lower than the cross member but hasn't been a problem

Did you lose pressure completely or was it just really low? My truck just dropped pressure after a hard hit idles at 8psi and won't go over 35 with rev. Was 30 at idle and 70 with rev and just quit building pressure

No clicking, no noise just dead. Battery was fine but when I did your test I had absolutely no light come on on my meter anywhere on the solenoid. So it would be safe to say that I have a bad Solenoid and a bad starter since when I jump the solenoid, nothing happens. Would that assumption be correct?

Sounds like a bad starter, but it could be both. Usually, two things don't go bad at the same time

Quick question. Does it matter which side the same terminal is? As in does it have to be on the battery side or it doesn’t matter if it’s on the starter side?
@avarageerod4 ай бұрын
If I understand the question, it shouldn't matter since it is just completing the circuit

I put a DBC 5.3 in my 94 s10. I got my cruise control to work. Was pretty easy because both the S10 and my donor vehicle both had cruise. Was a little more than a plug and play but it was pretty easy to hook up.

Correct. And the vacuum switch isn't calling for it, so no power is going to the torque converter

First off: GREAT video. Thanks for that. Second: what brand is that tester? That thing is awesome! Lastly: your son shouldn’t have any excuses in life, much less not to cut the grass. With a teacher like you, he could rule the world. Now I’m gonna go test my starter solenoid. 😊

Thanks for the compliments. The tester is an off the shelf unit from an auto parts store. Any store that sells fuses will have the tester. As for my son, like most kids, he doesn't think his parents know anything 😒

I didn't. On this mower, you do not have to be seated to start, just to engage the blades

I looked at the two reviews below and must agree. This is really the perfect way to diagnose a safety switch issue and if not that then a starter solenoid problem. This should be a very strait forward and simple diagnostic, but you are apparently the only person on Earth who can explain it easily. You have saved me an enormous headache.
