I do remember when you also got it back in 2012 with 90230 and 460 where the K5LA sounded alright, but a little bit of a strange vibe to the sound. I've also heard it like that in 2015 once at Berkeley.

Wow, I just caught #158 leading on the WB Sunset Limited back in August, & the horn didn't sound nearly as bad. Awesome catches!

Caught this baby a couple times in old town and Carlsbad it was amazing! Engineers were very friendly and gave me and the guys a lot of horn action! Beautiful horn

Good question... I never caught it on film, but most the 220 series was in the San Diegan pool at some point I believe This 225 may have already been assigned elsewhere by the time I started shooting the Surf back in 1995. The 220, 223, 229 were the regulars down here, but I believe I've seen pics or vids of 221 and 222... So I'm suspicious that this 225 has in fact ran on these Surfline rails before 2024.

The Surfliner should've also got a few more Cabcars with the numbers 6909 to 6914, because some of their coaches' numbers also ended in 09-14. They also should've put a 6950 in the roster if they would have planned to get some normal coaches also ending in 50, then the coach roster would've been complete for this route.

DOPE! Y’all have been getting all sorts of lucky lately, this is such nostalgia I wish it could always be like this man. Those classic F40’s never get old I like that paint scheme and they also sound very nice horn wise!
