The praying mantis was amazing! I just potted up a lot of bulbs to be kept in a cold greenhouse over winter. Do I need to water them now once and just leave until they go outside in spring, or leave them 'dry' over the winter?
@4m2balconygarden2 күн бұрын
You should water thoroughly now, and then leave them until the first leaves start to emerge in spring. Next month's journal will be all about bulbs.

Hi Cristina, don’t get discouraged by the issues with your plants over the summer. You probably just need to adjust the watering. I also have to be very careful since my balconies face south. With the cooler autumn and winter weather, this becomes less of a problem. I’ve planted Tuscan black kale, kale, pak choi, and various lettuces. The marigolds are still blooming, as are the calendulas, and nasturtium seedlings are sprouting from scattered seeds. Keep up the great work!
@4m2balconygarden27 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! My disappointment mostly comes from the fact that last year I was drowning in tomatoes, and this year I had maybe ten. There's always a lot to learn from this, and I'm looking forward for upcoming months. I also would like to try kale, if I can find a small variety. Such a good idea to grow calendulas and nasturtiums in autumn.

Man labai patinka sodas balkone...

Thank you 😊 Sorry that your balcony garden failed, but I'm glad to hear that you still have a space to garden. I also find balcony gardening tricky because of the very hot summers and cold winters. It's still a lot of trial and error, even though I have a better idea of what works now.

@4m2balconygarden29 күн бұрын
Thank you 😊 I do hope you will try again. It's not always easy, but I find it very rewarding. It's very important to find exactly what plants do well in your space, which means a lot of trial and error. It took me almost three years to have a good idea about what I can plant in my balcony.
@fifthfloorgarden27 күн бұрын
E ora, in autunno, mentre pensi a cosa farai a primavera, inizia a coltivare qualche verdura invernale. Buona fortuna!

Your videos are so relaxing to watch. I'm happy you're able to garden in such a small space, and I'm sorry your garden didn't do as well this year as you had hoped it would. I'm in the USA in zone 6a and my garden this year was the best one ever. Last year's garden was a disappointment. Nature likes to keep us guessing I suppose.. My biggest joy this year was finally getting a cucumber harvest, and even more than I could eat. I've tried growing cucumbers for at least 10 years, all different varieties, and I had been lucky if I ended up with 1 edible cucumber each year.
