Hey y'all! Thanks for watching the video! If you can't understand me through my nasally voice, I have the background information of Independence and Liberty Jail in the description of the video. Love y'all! Edit: I just added timestamps if you want to jump around to different parts that may interest you. Thanks!

I also want to apologize for the rough cut around 2:13. I accidentally included some misinformation so I had to cut it out using KZbin's editing feature which is still kind of rough. Thanks!

I've heard estimates that if Joseph really did transcribe from the plates that each character carved in gold would have to represent somewhere between 14-27.5 words, which seems unlikely
@FindingPeaceThroughHim20 күн бұрын
It was a copper/brass alloy that has the look of gold. For the engravings themself, I don’t know how much words were on each character, but you can look at the Characters Document from Jerry Grover which has literal characters from the plates. Also, plates are realistic because historians have found plates with engravings on Roman soldiers and other people throughout the world as well.

why do you consider the court biased that sentenced him?
@FindingPeaceThroughHim20 күн бұрын
The first time he was sentenced for treason which put him in liberty jail. He never did commit treason and it was a few months later that the same court found him actually innocent so they let him free with the other men to catch up to the Saints at Nauvoo. For Carthage, I consider the court biased because there was a lot of the mob members who lived in Hancock county at the time that were in the jury. So, they sentenced Joseph as a part of their plan to assassinate him. That being said, I think he was deserving of some sort of justice for having people destroy the Nauvoo Expositor, but what the biased court did wasn’t fair.

Why was he persecuted?
@FindingPeaceThroughHim20 күн бұрын
Great question! Basically, he had a lot of good doctrinal concepts and revelations from God, which a lot of people didn't like or agree with because it was against what the creeds say or what they interpret the Bible to say. A few examples that led to persecution in the early days were the translation and publication of the Book of Mormon, which I talked about in the video. Like nowadays, people believed it was some made-up book and that Joseph was a fraud. (However, there is hardly any evidence that those claims hold water. However, there is evidence that he did translate the Book of Mormon in 90 days while trying to fend for his life while mobs were trying to steal the plates or frankly to kill Joseph.) Another reason could be that Joseph had teachings that inspired people and took members out of already existing congregations of other churches, which angered a lot of people because they were losing people, money, and power. Later on in Church History, Joseph and the Saints would flee from town to town because of the mobs’ brutality. The mobs would shoot at women and children in the streets, tar and feather church officials, wrongfully arrest multiple church leaders, break into houses, commit arson, and basically whatever they could do to destroy the faith. Still to this day, modern-day anti-Mormons will burn LDS meetinghouses and break into members’ houses and steal stuff because of their faith. It is an unfortunate part of being a part of this world, no matter the religion, because of the hate that is in the world.

As an adult with a postgraduate degree I wrote a 125 page thesis. It took just over a year to research, and 9 months of intensive writing and rewriting. The Book of Mormon was transcribed in about 90 days, they would pick up were they left off, no reading no rewriting. Joseph Smith has a 3 rd grade education at the time, okay today’s crummy standards I give about a 6th grade. It was a translation, nothing short of miraculous.

I to full heartily believe and am in awe of the mighty prophet and warrior for God. I believe him to be solidly honest. That is why I believe he did not practice or teach polygamy. FACT: He very strongly spoke against the practice and boldly chastised those who accused him. See Jeremy Hoops pod ast still mormon, Michelle Stone podcast 132 problems, Conner Boyack Sunday musings, Robert Fatheringham podcast...all very enlightening with facts!!

I love how you used a doctrinal mastery scripture in the real world :) This kind of channel is the kind of thing God inspired the creation of social media for. "If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." Subscribed so fast

We are afraid of death as part of the human condition. We cling to various fictionalized explanations for the world around us for temporary comfort. People are afraid to admit that they do not know if there is an afterlife or if there is a creator. I find it more exciting to accept the unknowns and just take life for what it is...and rely only on what is observable to shape my worldview.

Amen! We shouldn't just trust in the world, but we most trust in the Lord. That is extremely important these days. We are just so used to being spoon fed answers and explanations that it takes a lot of desire and effort to look beyond the world and ourselves and try to become more like our Savior. Thank you!

I love the sentiment, and I can respect what you want to believe in, but I do not think I will be Christian at any point, but keep doing what you're doing man, this is the kind of rep Christianity needs if the normal guys don't want to be grouped in with the pushy ones.
