I did not see where the “front” fence was set square to the saw blade. Yes, the sled is glued to the runners square to the fence but is the front fence actually square to the blade. When cutting with a table saw sled, all cuts are aligned by the front fence. Not so sure thhis build is accurate. Did anyone else notice the split int the MDF on the left side “aster” they said to pre-drill to avoid splitting the MDF just before he runs his hand over ti the insude that the screw heads are at lease flusf with the bottom of the sled.

Thank you for your question. The video is intended to demonstrate how to build a table sled, using the Powertec kit, and does not include all the assembly details. Yes, the front fence must be square to the blade and that is addressed fully in the included instructions. Thank you for pointing out the split in the MDF. The board was split prior to making the video and overlooked during filming.

Hi, @RohitKulshreshtha! Thank you for your interest in our products. Our current line focuses on 3/4" (19.05mm) dog holes, which are common in workshops across the US and Canada. We are aware that woodworkers in other parts of the world may use other dog hole sizes, but as a US company with main operations in North America, we are sorry to inform you that no such plans are in line. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for reaching out.

So, this is ridiculous. Why spend $550 for a MF table if I get a Maker Pipe kit and a piece of MDF and drill the holes myself for about a $100.00 You guys are living in some form of LA LA land to think that this is going to be a big seller. No one begrudges you from making a product and profit, just not to gouge us in the process.

the kreg ACS table is 600 and the festool mft3 is 800. there is a market for a cheaper MDF topped table. functionally, a table you build yourself will do the same thing as a mass produced table, but some of us are willing to pay for the convenience of a finished product.

How do ensure the runners fit the tracks? How do you square the fence to the blade?
@powertec_usa

Hi @herbsu4330, great question! Use a square to adjust the front fence to be square to the kerf line in the base. When square, clamp the other end of the front fence to the base. Note that the runner (HDPE bar) is 3/4” x 3/8” for universal 3/4” miter slot.

@@herbsu4330 I've not tried this, but I wonder if you either tighten the screws near the slack areas, or put slightly "fatter" screws there, if it would push the HDPE to be wider at those locations so it would take up some slack? At 1:37 in the video he talks about screws expanding the HDPE bars if the holes are too small in diameter. You could use that to your advantage.

I'd love to see if this could support the SawStop compact. I am not quite sure how you would mount it though. The stand for the saw that is stationary is not great, and the saw is 65lbs or so, so not something I want to keep on moving back and forth to the stand. But it has these cheap looking but I guess working plastic swivel locks that go on each arm (two of them). I am guessing I'd want to mount my saw to some wood, then bolt the wood in to this stand to ensure it doesnt fall off when folding up?
@powertec_usa
@powertec_usa 4 ай бұрын
Hi @b3owu1f! Unfortunately, the MT4009 will not work and is not an option for the SawStop. The SawStop footprint is larger than the MT4009, and there are no mounting holes to attach an adapter board.

@@powertec_usa So just a heads up.. I ended up going with another brand (sorry.. was $20 cheaper) the black/yellow version of this. Turns out.. you CAN fit the sawstop compact on it.. but you DO have to rig it a little. For example, I am using I think 1" ubolts.. and by adjusting the yellow (green on your unit) plates a little bit you can line them up below both legs. I am also using some ratchet straps as extra support. But it works. So it CAN work, it just requires a little extra work to mount it. I should add that the height of the saw is pretty high.. I have the Kreg fold up table (that you get with the track saw setup) and the table saw sits higher than that by a couple inches. As well the Kreg stands, at maximum height are too short to act as a feed table or side table (with some plywood on it). So.. I am building these in/out feed stands from wood that I found to work with my saw and stand.

I have one I made with a single unit, so it’s only 6.5” wide. I have a 2.5” port running into a cyclone cleaner into a 6hp shop vac. I get very little suction. Do I need a bigger port?
@powertec_usa
@powertec_usa 6 ай бұрын
Hi @jimsprague9309, Before enlarging your 2.5” port, please check the 6hp shop vac, cyclone cleaner, and hose/pipe for any clogging. Also, check and see if the cyclone container is too full. (When the cyclone container is too full, it will reduce the suction power). Typically, a cyclone is more efficient and easier to clean than your vacuum filter, but for a big chunk, like planer shavings, it can easily clog a 2.5” hose/pipe/cyclone system. The table panel kit creates smaller debris, and dust particles and a 2.5” port should be big enough without clogging. In addition, if you connected a long hose/pipe and a lot of adapter/blast gates, it also reduced the suction power. If you have checked and there is no debris, chips, or clogging in your system, connect your down draft table directly to your shop vac. If you are still not getting a good draft, your shop vac hose may be too small, or you may not be pulling enough CFM’s. If you have more questions or require further assistance, we encourage you to message our Customer Support at [email protected]. Cheers!

In that comment I asked for help about connecting the flex hoses to my tools I have some 2 1/2" hoses and they don't want to go on the blast gates nor do they like my tools very much... Maybe I got the wrong sized flex hose? The tools have the 2 1/2" and connects fine with my Rigid Shop vac. BTW: The tip about the direction of the blast gate helped me a little, still not having any luck. Any Advice?

Are the size of the blades all the same?
@powertec_usa
@powertec_usa 8 ай бұрын
Hey @tedperez4732, great question! When it comes to length, the choice of a band saw blade depends on your machine, while the size of your saw's wheels will typically determine the maximum thickness of the blade you can use. Depending on your application, there are a number of variations within a blade size. Blades widths, the number of teeth per inch, and the material type of blade can all change depending on your application. When buying a blade, check the listing to make sure it meets you needs. We hope this helps!
