Regular wd-40 strips the lubricant from the torsion springs - see above for example. Instead, use a *white lithium grease* (also a wd-40 product) or if in a pinch, a viscous silicone lubricant. White lithium grease is less fluid and needs to be worked into a mechanism, use more than you think, get one with a bendable nozzle for control, wipe up excess

I didn’t know which video to put my comment on, but this one is as good as any. I just finished installing the second new door on my two car garage and I can’t be happier. Ordered two classic steel doors from Clopay via Home Depot with the best insulation, hardware upgrade, insulated privacy windows, EZ Set torsion springs, and hanger kits. Had to reframe with new 2x6s as the old doors (1974) were not done well. New doors arrived about four weeks after ordering. Faster than expected. Was nervous to DIY this, but after watching some videos, I thought I can do that. Everything I needed was provided and the instructions were clear. Made some rookie mistakes with the first one, but nothing major. The second one was way easier, and both doors look fantastic. High quality doors and components at a very good price. I would recommend Clopay to anyone looking to upgrade their garage doors. Thank you!

And you don't show the inside of the door - why? Because you're hiding the fact that the foam is just stuck to the back of the front sheet metal, rather than a sandwich where it's finished sheet metal panels on BOTH sides?

Go ahead and clean the reverse safety sensors with robin alcohol make sure that the sensors are facing to each other

I washed mine today, luckily I dont' think the neighbors saw me.

Something tugged and pulled a wire apart inside of my motor. I had to splice it back together. It was associated to a sensor that controlled where the position of the door open and closed.

i'm trying to frame an 8' roll up into the end of my greenhouse, but I don't know how wide to make the frame or jamb? If it is an 8' door, is it just 8'? i measured from the end of the axle pole to opposite end and it is 102", or 8.5'. Any help is much appreciated!

Exactly what I needed - joined a Facebook group turned out it was Trade Only - Boy did I encounter some downright rude SOB’s - they didn’t like it when I asked what university course did you major in as an Garage door installer - Seriously rude people when all I needed was someone to show me this video- I get it and understand the safety wires - idk what’s wrong with this trade my trade I’m more than willing to be proactive and save someone from injury in propane or compressed gasses and I have a pile of tickets and willing to help anyone for the sake of the industry- All I’ve heard all day is Call a professional or your on drugs - it’s a feckin roller door with two springs it’s not like setting four camshafts on a Range Rover V8 - of which I can do lols

What's the purpose of recording the measurements? It seems like the "you will need them later is not fully explained". Even in the directions i'm reading now in my manual they say to record the measurements and then nothing else about it.
