All the Harley hating comments are just the result of penis envy. If Harleys were the same price as metrics, they'd all have one just because of the cool factor.

It’s a sweet bike but the truth is you don’t need all that motor and technology to ride. The additional cost mean little if you got to sell you house to ride a Harley-Davidson

We all know Harley-Davidson motorcycles are pricey, I should know because I own a 2017. Since then Harley had been in a funk closing plants etc and restructuring. I have found that in my travels Harley-Davidson dealerships price just about every bike they sell above the MSRP or close as hell to it. Their merchandise is priced in a similar manner which steers new buyers to other brands and once Harley only MC’s allowing non Harley riding members in due to cost of HD bikes.

Harley Davidsons "brand new" Milwaukee 8 motor is junk, watch the below video's! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pl69cqOEfM-Cq68 kzbin.info/www/bejne/in_GaHiPidNmfZI The "Motor Company" did NOTHING to address my "Twinkie" Motor when it blew up after only 20K miles due to a stupid tensioner design flaw! Neither did all the other people who suffered the consequences of this sorry ass Motor Company's utilization of substandard roller bearings which were placed in the motor AND transmissions! Do you honestly think they'll do ANYTHING about this latest debacle? I'll just continue to ride my old reliable Carbureted Evo WITH throttle cables and no computer while all the of these new junk M8 bikes are getting wrenched on. "RIP Harley Davidson 1903-1998".

Those hp and tq numbers are very good for a air/oil cooled V-twin engine. HD engineers are doing an awesome job getting those numbers from this platform. That's probably over 90hp at the crank and well over 100ft-lbs at the crank! My old Vrod may have made 15 more HP but it was a high revving, liquid cooled, DOHC, performance engine.

Oh boy, he actually looks disappointed..... I bought a Milwaukee 8, I can't do anything to it because of warranty issues so I won't touch it. What I will do is buy a used night train and tear it up to make it louder, faster, and louder. Then I will have a nice bar cruiser....

Thanks for the insight Jim. When we were racing scrambles in the early 70s one of the things we used to do was paint our engines, pipes with hi temp black paint because we knew that black shook off heat better than any other color. So wouldn't having the same setup on the engine/pipes, though hotter for the rider, be better in dumping some of that heat from the engine/pipes quicker, ergo, better for the longevity of the engine and related pieces and parts and fluids?

I used to have a 2005 Honda VTX1800.. after adding only air cleaner, pipes and a power commander it made 118ft pounds and 103hp.. at the rear wheel, from a 2005... Harley adds a counterbalanced motor water and oil cooled motor, yet it can't make any HP..?? This is the freakin screamin eagle too.. I want a harley but will not spend $35k to make it fun..

Regardless of what you think of Harley-Davidson, Illinois is a ethanol mandated state. you are looking at a 13 percent horsepower loss due to the bull-shit gasoline. Basically a motor that makes 100HP on ethanol will make 113HP on non-ethanol (pure) gasoline.

I would agree with that statement if you were referring to a dump-truck. A motorcycle is the opposite; you don't want high torque at low RPM. When you are railing through a sweeper and you get on the throttle to help stand the bike up - the last thing you want is peak torque. I will never understand these motors, it seems counter intuitive.

The horsepower number may not impress the arm chair quarterbacks but the torque number and curve of the 107 is truly impressive. It pulls like a crazy from as low as 2000 rpm. Just what a big heavy bagger needs. I've owned 95", 103" and 110" Twin Cam baggers and my 2017 107" has better roll-on grunt than all of them.

we can get into HP debates for days. I honestly like the Indian models MUCH more and not only do I have a R6 that is 10 years old and has been stunted to hell just dynoed at 124 from a HARD riden 600! Im running 196hp at the rear on a 1340cc Suzuki and its only had exhaust, filter and tune. These GIANT Neanderthal M/Cs should by now be 125 to 140s STOCK depending on CI. 91!!! terrible

Sport bikes are for some....Harley Davidson is a way of life.....if you don't get it you probably never will....it's not about how fast you get there or where you're going...it's about the journey. There's nothing like cruising the ole gal in the mountains at less than light speed.....go as fast as you like on your high rpm buzzer bikes...I'll take the thump and cruise any day of the week
