Jockey Lads and Wenches. I ammer sure but wasn't it originally the Pot-hook pit mound. Anyroad , what theest gotter think-on is that the the 'New Town' is managed by a 'Troupe' not people lake 'Uz'

I was born in 1981 and this is amazing. I wish it were possible to time travel back to 1981 and see this myself and even record it all on a 2022 camera.

I used to live on Sutton Hill in about 70 to 73, then we moved to Brookside. Does anyone remember when You could just Walk through Blists Hill , before it was all renovated, and the adventure play park at the top, with slides made from spare drainage pipes and wooden structures to climb?

It was an old pit and my nan would warn me not to play there as a kid as the ground was unsafe.there was a walk way through it that came out close to where the lord hill pub was. There were some beautiful trees and wildlife there it's all gone now sad

Great film, so great to see, I used super 8 film too for my silly films, remember it was £4:0 for 5minutes of silent film, processing prepaid. Love seeing your films. Great music too.

I really enjoyed watching this and was wondering whether I'd be able to use some brief clips from it in a project which is documenting Telford's history please? Thanks, Nick (production company is www.brookcottagemedia.co.uk)

Sitting in Horsehay right now approximately 100m from the train tracks shed sure has changed lovely to know I'm around an area with so much history it's always been a lovely place and quite posh. Since I've lived here.

I was The Playleader of Newport Playscheme in 1981. We took 500 people from Newport to be part of the Link Up. It was an amazing day I will never forget Listening to John Lennon's Imagine as we all held hands around the Wrekin. It was to celebrate the Year of the Disabled if my memory serves me right .. Cant wait to be part of the New Event. Maybe we can try to contact Newport Playscheme Members and all meet up 33 Years Later. All my family will be there. I am excited. Thanks for posting this on utube.

This sounds a very inspiring event to look forward to. I was there at All Hands Around The Wrekin and it was lots of fun and families got together to enjoy it. Well done and good luck to the organizers.

When I was a teenager we used to break into the grounds of Randlay Chimney and wander around some of the tunnels, scared the s--t out of me if I was honest lol although I tried not to let on at the time!

Definitely prefer Madeley the way it is now compared to how it was in the 1980s, many of the shops (and some of the flats are still there sadly) were ugly, typical 1960s architecture. Always used to get taken to Madeley on market days by my nan (RIP) who was born in Court Street and seemed to know everyone in the town!

Wasnt the mount man made anyway? I'm against what they have done to telford, all they are doing is creating one huge houseing estate an yes a new school was a waste of money when phenix doesnt need much to upgrade it. Wasnt malinslee once a field or farm? think its the same everywhere so im not totally against development but i am against the waste of money regenerations (housing estates) I have a feeling dawley highstreet will be torn down next.

Its all a ghost town now, funny isnt it all these signs poping up everywhere saying bringing new life to old towns yet all they have done is throw up housing estates everywhere.

I could weep at the council for what they have done, now its just a bloody mountain of dirt and chaos, all for a school to be built a few hundred yards from another school thats a little bit old. Telford regeneration my arse.
