In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. This was her best selling CD! The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) - went to #1 in several European countries! And yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. I agree about them using metaphors. They also use a lot of pop culture references like Tokyo Drift movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once movie, Motorola flip phone, 48 Laws of Power book by Robert Greene. These girls don't need bad language or twerking or showing off skin. Just pure talent.

"Guilty" was the title track from Barbra's 1980 album where all songs were written specifically for her by Barry and/or his brothers (minus one track) and produced by Barry and his team. It was a huge hit and at sales of ~$15M remains the highest selling of the 70+ albums in Streisand's catalog (released from 1963 - 2022, including studio, live, soundtracks, and compilations). I personally prefer the studio version vs this live performance because it lacks the instrumentation and background vocals that bring the full Bee Gee-esque sound to the album.

Barbra Streisand suffers from stage fright and hadnt performed a full length concert live for almost 20 years when this was recorded. She was inspired to sing again to raise money for political reasons, especially for anti-nuclear proliferation, so what's a reclusive legend to do? Barbra had the stage built in her back yard, hired an 8 piece band to back her, and convinced Robin Williams to be her opening act. She invited 500 of her closest friends and charged them $5000 per ticket to hear her sing. HBO put 250,000 towards the production and an astronomical sum for the audio and video rights. She made 1.2 million at the gate (and that was 1986 money) and another 6.8 from the HBO deal. Adjusted for todays economy she brought in $22,451,674.29 for one night in her back yard. Barbara streisand has been after Berry for years... lol I do believe she finally gave up but she stole a newsman's camera at 1 of their concerts and she wouldn't give it back so that she could get up close view of Barry Gibb on stage when the beegees had a concert

Barbra Streisand is one of the most multi-talented female artists of the past 100 years: acting, directing and of course singing in her fantastic and unique voice. If you ever will react to movies, too, you should watch her movies "A Star Is Born", "Funny Girl", "Yentl", "The Way We Were", "What's Up, Doc?", "The Main Event". She is a fabulous singer on her own, but has collaborated with many big names, like The BeeGees and then especially oldest brother Barry Gibb. The album "Guilty" Barry (and his brothers, but mainly he) made for and with Barbra Streisand not only revitalized her album sales, but revitalized the record industry as a whole. The album was a total sensation and sold so many copies world wide, so quickly after its release, it was like the records were handed out for free. Two huge showbizz names teaming up together was a big thing back in 1980. Initially the Gibbs were asked to "write a song" for Barbra. They wrote several and Barbra liked them so much that the idea for doing a whole album was born. The Gibb brothers wrote all the songs for that album. In fact, they wrote many more, so Barbra picked her favorite ones of the dozens of songs she was presented with. Barry sang 2 duets with Barbra on the album.
