John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 1 Corinthians 15:3 that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 🌏

As someone who has been close to (but never quite at) that suicidal point, it's the little things that make all the difference. To some people it's just a TV show but if one person can find joy, hope or optimism then it is worthwhile.

You probably already have done something like this---just didn't know it. EVERYONE makes a 'ripple effect' in their lives. EVERYONE. Just be kind, be the best that you can be, and the effects will come forth.

There's 24 viewers who need to have their heads examined. Seriously. I'm a so-so Trek fan but an enormous James Doohan fan. I'm also bipolar and if I may jump stories...The Talmud says, "if you save one life, you save the world entire."

James Doohan was a great person, and the fans loved him. Btw, they just released a scotch whiskey named after his character: Montgomery Scott

You hear about the Doohan-Shatner feud, as recounted by both sides, and you look into the lives of both men: Doohan taking five bullets on the beaches of Normandy, Doohan reaching out to a despondent/suicidal fan, Shatner pitching four wives, Shatner using Nimoy-footage without permission, Shatner skipping Nimoy's funeral. No comparison between the two.

He saved a life. On D-DAY, and in WWII he fought for many more. To be frank, further to his credit, I think James Doohan, Scotty, was responsible for something like half of the electrical engineers in the last quarter of 20th century. He and Nimoy, Spock, probably made the generations of science we enjoy now. Man's a hero; a legend. Full respect.

And the fact she became an engineer made "Scotty" even more proud. He may have been an actor and a soldier, but the fans out there who know him as their favorite engineer, who used his determination and pride in work, in their own pursuits as an engineer due to his influence is another thing overlooked about Jimmy.

Words can't describe how I feel for this man. The world needs to be filled with people like him. Between D-Day, Star Trek, and this, he will be loved forever. More people need to know about him. This story is what the song On The Turning Away says to do "Just a world that we all must Share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll Be No more turning away?" is the last stanza. I want to live by this song and be like James Doohan.
