Amazingly enough, you can get the same exact results on an iPad with the M1 chipset so you don't have to spring for the M4 unless you also want to do video/graphics/animation type stuff. My 5th generation iPad Air with the M1 is a workhorse. I've got about eight things going into it at once for live performance, including MIDI and multitrack recording. I was actually looking for a reason to buy the M4 Pro because I've got cash to burn but the Air I bought my wife is kicking ass. At this point the only reason I have to upgrade is if Apple brings back the OG headphone jack.

So is this Kinda the same as if I'm using one compressor lower down and one higher up to even the peaks out? Or would u still wanna do this with a limiter to get those really loud transients if there are any? SRRY I'm rly new to all this stuff 😅

I'm still a beginner in music, and the thing with the clipper before limiter really helped me put things in the place I wanted in one of my songs. This video was really good! Thank you, hope you have a good day!

I missed it., I thought 1 was brighter and more open 2 was warmer which I associate with analogue. But I vacillated..at times I thought 1 was 2. So yeah, confirmed...I'm a musician not a mastering engineer. I didn't want to admit that I liked the brightness over the "warmth", which at times felt sonically lifeless compared to the detail in 1. THANKS ! SO, what is the 25,000 difference? But, if I had $25,000 dollars in the budget, I'd much rather tweak physical knobs in a great room and use my ears.

Keep up the good work with your analog gear. It sounded better to me in both tests, although I’d love to have heard a third digital pass without chromaglow which I suspect was what made the digital master sound harsh.

Is there a way I can do a mix in/out of the whole plugin. So let's say if I only wanted to use 5% of the plugins entire effect?

no.2 sounded way better on my reference monitors cause it sounded smoother and swore by the gates of hell it was analog. holy shit.

I have my own recording studio but I have a need of constant creation :) as a high end PC user I needed something to take on the sofa: the iPad Pro with 2TB and 16 GB of RAM is doing an incredible job ! Being a Cubase/Nuendo user I use Cubasis 3. Will try Logic down the road.

WOW Man, I am starting to understand, and more importantly hearing the compression. BUT ha ha, I have a compressor with PEAK to one side and RMS to the other? Can you explain that and/or do you have a vid on peak vs rms. Thanks for the GREAT explan my friend.

With the right plugins and use of them you will equally good results compared to hardware. People tend to self-deception when it comes to sound.

Insane how the included stem tool isn't being talked enough about. I've been using the splitter to basically create my virtual band. As a guitarist this is so much fun instead of fighting to find stems of songs. In 2 minutes the band is good go and everyone is ready to play. The only downside is that the guitar falls in "others" and so when I mute the guitars - I often find myself removing other great sounds... Great video - Love your style and especially "all music is distortion" 😊

The perfect compression is whatever you feel is right. Compressors aren't just for taming and exaggerating transients. They're a flavor tool, like hot sauce or ranch. Nobody can tell you how much hot sauce or ranch is right for your nachos or how to pour it on, just drench that shit however you want.
