The first time hearing this at 13 was intoxicating and entrancing. Paved the way for an edgy teenagehood. Fuckin incredible tune. It gives me a nostalgic feeling like I've heard this in a past life, but I know I've never heard it before. It's shit that the internet and antifa caught wind of black metal around 2018 and everything went to shit. Now can barely wear a Burzum shirt without copping shit at a local music venue.

I'd love it if they did a remaster to make it sound more crisp and perhaps the vocals a little more clear like in the newer albums but still full of that aggression that is missing in the newer albums.

Once at the ninetees I was teenager and I first heard burzum,s filosofem and that moment changed my life forever. "Suddenly life has new meaning". I dont agree every political intrest with varg but the music that he has made is fucking great. I love the music and lyrics of burzum. Hail burzum!!! T: grimsahn Midgard

Varg is a weird case of someone who has made great art while doing very bad things. It upsets me the way he thinks and acts but i really enjoy a lot of the early burzum albums

I can understand if people dislike Varg's early vocals, I can understand that even he doesn't really like it, but it contains SO SO much emotions and feelings... Especially in the end, from 8:25, with the slow guitar and the lyrics.. Probably the most atmospheric BM vocals ever, along with the end of Spell Of Destruction The riffs are amazing too, in the end and from 2:30.. There are TONS of so called "DSBM" bands and albums, which means that they have the same 3 tremolo picked chords with shitty production for 40 minutes and they call it depressed, but i haven't seen any modern BM band doing riffs with so much emotions and creativity. I love this song, and also Spell of Destruction because they're really heavy, kind of "doomy" and depressive at the same time.

Love this song. It always reminds me of Drake's "In My Feelings," which I feel is a slightly better song from a musical perspective, but I still respect the passion it took to create A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit. I think Burzum could improve if they utilized more trap beats, maybe hooked up with Drake's producer, 40, but that's just me. :p

Masterpiece... But why "Genre: Death Metal"? I think it sounds rather like black metal, or at least some crossover between them.
@jamesleclair8422 жыл бұрын
Older albums had black metal influences but their newer albums moved away from the BM sound and more towards melodic DM.
