Top 5 things I don't like about the Basecamp 1. No outside storage 2. No Awning 3. Can't put a gallon of milk in fridge 4. Burners struggle to boil water 5. Faucet/sink are small (no prep space) Bonus: no sound system Looks cool though 😜

I know you ran it for 2 1/2 hours, but how much propane would you use for say 8 hours of continuous use, roughly? It's really cool that you use the propane rather than the gas, like you said great choice cause you already have it on board and it's less messy than having to refill with gas. I was actually considering the 3200i for possible home emergency use but it's a lot heavier.

Can you run the 13,500 ac unit in a 20x. With a Honda 2200i generator? No soft start?
@StreamDreamin17 күн бұрын
You saw my generator in the back! So, I did test it--very briefly. I started the fan on low, then high, then kicked on the AC. It really stressed the generator but the generator did recover. I will do a video on this soon. Thanks for watching.

Looking at a 20x, 2022, what should I look for? Most problematic issues?
@StreamDreamin21 күн бұрын
@@toolonthehill Thanks for watching, the most common issues are a leaky back door seal, the water heater not heating the water. The best advice I can give you is to test everything. Make the sellers show you how it works works and actually experience it.

Where is the Fuze for the jack? The fuse between the jack and the battery?
@StreamDreaminАй бұрын
In my case I put it close to the battery. If you look closely at about 7:00-8:15 on the video you'll see the black tube on the red wire. That's the fuse holder. You could also splice it in closer to the jack if you prefer. I chose to put it in the battery compartment to keep it out of the weather. That's just personal preference. Thanks for the question and for watching. There's a lot more to come.

It’s from Andersen hitches and yes, I’m happy with it. I bought their Ez bag. I think their stuff is fantastic. It comes with a leveling wedge, two chalks, four stabilizer pads, and a stop pad plus the 8” jack block.

Why not just use rivnuts?
@StreamDreaminАй бұрын
Thanks for the question. It might work, but the belly pan is quite thin, and there's a risk they might get torn out. Airstream did use backing plates, but they weren't secured to the belly pan, so I couldn't reuse them. For me, the decision to add a new and more durable backing plate stemmed from Airstream having used them initially. I'm also concerned that any fastener I use without a backing plate wouldn't withstand the vibration, bouncing, and wind the trailer experiences at speed and off-road.
@RichardThompson-eb5vrАй бұрын
@@StreamDreamin Mine is a long answer, butI do not believe rivnuts would work well in this application. They are used all the time in aircraft apllication (I ran an FAA aircraft repair station) but most commonly for fairings and inspection plates whick have most of the force parallel to the aluminum skin. In the sewer hose application the force is primarily perpendicular to the aluminum skin where there is greater risk of tear-out. Probably why Airstream used backing plates, they have been perfecting aluminum bodies for 90 years.
