But when that Episcopalian priest wrote that song they were following the Bible, not at all the same as the denomination is today.To try to tarnish Charles Wesley, one of the greatest preachers, and to link him to Pentacostal teaching is just wrong. Methodist also were very fundamentally sound in the past. Can people in sin write songs that glorify God, yes, but should we be throwing out our hymns written mostly all by people who knew their Bibles deeply to sing choruses that say nothing? Should we be growing financially ministries of people who do not know or love God, but see this as a money making opportunity? I agree that the important question is to sing sound doctrine and to glorify God. The Bible also teaches us to test the spirits to see if they be from God. If they are not from God, we should not be yoked together.

You make some great points here. Trying to tarnish the ministries and work of great men of God like Charles Wesley was not the focus. The intention was to get back to what matters most, and that is the worship of God. This was not throwing out hymns or advocating for new worship music, but was a reminder that there is only One who is worthy of all worship and praise, Jesus Christ and through Him God the Father.

Please Help me I Believe Jesus Is The Son of God and God The Son of The Holy Trinity I Believe Jesus Shed His Blood and Died in the place to Pay for All my Sins He was Buried Then 3 Days Later Jesus Arose From The Dead!!! But I am struggling with some Sins that I honestly don’t know how to quit I hate my Sins But I genuinely don’t know how to stop them Am I still Saved because of my faith in Jesus or am I Not Saved because of my Sins? Thank you for All your Help and Time God Bless you

Hey monicadhaliwal1791 Jesus loved you while you were still a sinner. Read through the book of Romans in the Bible, and perhaps do a Bible study on that book. Paul writes in there that there is this tension that exists as we struggle with sin in our lives. As long as you are still repenting and confessing your sins, and working hard to do better, God, through His Holy Spirit, will continue to produce His fruit in your life. Focus your attention on the Saviour and not on your sin. Repent, confess, and move on to His calling.

1. Changed by grace from selfish ambition 2. Paul’s effort and motivation - self focused success until God intervened, he was called by grace. When God intervenes in a situation the effects are greater. Application: - seek glory for God not yourself - know and understand the Gospel - pray for God’s plan and purpose for you Great message 🙏🏾
