I sang this as part of a choir a few years back in Oceanside and it genuinely it was and still one of my top 3 favorite pieces that I've ever sung

This is a modern piece. What is it about the moon that still constrains some people to pray to it or praise it or write songs of such transcendence when we know that it's a big space rock?
@DanielElderMusic4 ай бұрын
Ah, but it’s not about the moon, is it? It’s about what happens “beneath the moon.” Hence, it’s a celebration of mood, of emotion, all inspired by the luminescence of moonlight. I’d wager many moon-related songs are similarly like this.

@@DanielElderMusicWe loved Ballade to the Moon. We were interrupted by school closures due to Covid but finally performed it, and the audience response was great.
@xannie75115 ай бұрын
All three songs from Nocturnes are so gorgeous on their own but when you listen to them back to back as they were intended you get a better picture of the story Daniel Elder paints with these compositions! Cheers from someone who got to sing Ballade to the Moon in state in high school 10+ years ago! It was also the final song I sang with my high school choir and we were all fighting tears the whole time.

I once lived in the house Twinkle Twinkle Star was written in. I have to say, this arrangement invokes the same feeling, with the same energy I remember surrounding the house. Enchanting, peaceful and timeless.

Can I find a recording anywhere on streaming?
@DanielElderMusic8 ай бұрын
This is a demo by the commissioning ensemble, and the rights belong to them. Basically you need someone to commercially record it to get it on streaming platforms. Hopefully one day, but commercial choral recordings just don't happen all that often-few can afford it.
