Well, the two interesting things that are hard to remove without destruction, those plastic things with the fake Phillips head on them, you say get 'em out and then you show 'em gone, but your not showing how you remove 'em without damage. I can pry the ugly little bastards out, but how is it done nicely and how are they re-use-able??? I hate those things and I wonder how others are dealing with them. Thanks for posting and Best Regards from Alaska.
@Doinityourself5 ай бұрын
Sorry about that. I should have shown the actual removal. You can use a small flathead screwdriver or preferably an auto trim removal tool. The plastic push pins can sometimes be reused, but are are very inexpensive to replace. Here is a link to show you the tool(s) and the plastic push pins as a combo buy. www.amazon.com/Ginsco-Fasteners-Assortment-Expansion-Replacement/dp/B0BHSRPSPR/ref=asc_df_B0BHSRPSPR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=658870618698&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1746650151511996322&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9022070&hvtargid=pla-2187904239070&psc=1&mcid=909217cd98003300b6f209cba6a3bfb4

My headlight fuse blows as soon as I turn the switch on what could be causing that
@Doinityourself5 ай бұрын
Sounds like it could be a short to ground, a bad battery (spiking power) or possibly too small of a fuse. Be careful going to higher amp fuses though. If you were to try a higher amp fuse, try only 5 more amps.

@Doinityourself6 ай бұрын
Best guess would be to clean the carburetor and all the jets inside of it really good. Before you do that though, try to get the idle screw set properly and the air/fuel mixture screw set correctly. See if those work. If not, then a complete cleaning is needed. Last thing, change your spark plug too.

So, if you put bigger tires on you can make the clutch Grabe faster by replacing the weights and putting shims in?
@Doinityourself8 ай бұрын
By replacing the weights, adding shims, and putting in a mudder spring, it keeps the belt lower within the sheaves on the primary clutch for a longer amount of time. That helps from spinning tires and causing you to dig deeper and getting stuck. So if you do this setup, you'll have to give your Grizzly some gas to get er going. It will seem strange at first with the higher rev / rpms to get going, but that's what it is supposed to do. If you do any rising in water, mud, or goopy sand, and you have anybtire larger than a 28", this is more ideal of a setup to run.

Where did you get the springs from
@Doinityourself10 ай бұрын
The springs should already be inside under the brushes. If they aren't there you should be able to find them under a Google search by entering your brand of winch with the lb rating. If you still don't have any luck, you can go to a good hardware store that has a large hardware section and check their specialty bins/ and or make your own.

@Doinityourself Жыл бұрын
A large flathead screwdriver. My small one was broken so I ordered a new one, but a large flathead should get them removed for you. If they are stuck pretty good you'll have to use the driver in an impact method. Tap lightly on the end off it with a dead blow hammer and turn at the same time.

Okay so after installing new cam valves cam gear and timeing chain tensioner it starts but has a tick and when I'm at TDC my intake rocker arm has 0 play like it's super tight is that because the arm or pin or is it fine?

Did I install my rocker arm pins wrong or something?? Because I've taken the pins out and put it back in and it still is super tight
@Doinityourself Жыл бұрын
It sounds like your valves aren't set to the correct clearances. Recheck those and correct them if they need it. Also, check your spark plug gap. When you put your rocker arm pins back in, they didn't bind did they?
@Doinityourself Жыл бұрын
@mikesgarage8231 as long as your rocker arms are able to rock without having to use any force, then they should be fine. If you have to put any force on them at all to make them move up and down against the top of the valve stem, then they may have bent and will be a huge pain to get out. I know from experience. It is possible to bent that stainless steel pin. If you forced them into the holes, there's a good chance you have a slight bend.
