The Adam should thermal fine. Test you min sink in calm air and you will know how strong a thermal you need. Does your oudie have a variometer?

@@damoflyingadventures yes, it's a sailplane/paragliding device. More bells and whistles than I would every use. I can plumb the audio vario tones into my earcups.

Its a variometer and gps to measure air pressure change and aid navigation. The variometer beeps to tell you you are in rising air, the faster the beeps the faster you are going up

I think it was a woohoo!! lol! yes a bit late on the uprights but a good last second save. The rear wire position is a bit different than my crossover and the heavy rain was taking up my attention. Ultimately the approach circuit was good but i should have been in the landing configuration sooner. Least i know now that the rain didn't affect performance as much as I was expecting although I was flying a bit faster than best glide

I have a good feeling about this season Chris and I hope to be able to take you up on the retrieve. Hope you're keeping well. PS you should be at the BOS :-0

Thanks Nicos, cloudbase was around 3800 feet at the inversion, Maxed out at 3600 where it all got a bit bumpy. I wasn't planning on going for distance but a small triangle. I tried several times to make the last leg but in the end was beaten by the headwind and slow climbs. (200 up). each time I topped out and went into wind I had to climb and drift again. I had about 20k zig zagging all over the place but in the end was only 8k from the field. My VG was set on 2/3 and I just left it there. I should have made more use of it but i'm not sure the final third would have made much difference
