Things like this that made sport entetaining. Lillelien wasn't only commentating, he was particiapting.

This is how the tackle looked like on TV: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIHRhqmCoaxqqbssi=tb4yJqa6DM4PSZP0 I've seen much worse tackles myself. However, hearing Bjørge Lillelien's comments on the radio I was convinced it was a vicious tackle by Phil Neal. Bjørge was a bit chauvinistic and this showed it very well. Phil Neal didn't even get a yellow card. Still, listening to Bjørge was great. He had the legendary ability to get listeners engaged in the sports event he was commenting. Since he mainly commented on radio he was a master describing what the listeners couldn't see and sometimes exaggerated to make the story more interesting

@borgerborgersen37211 ай бұрын
Bjørge Lillelien used the term ramp which is synonymous with pøbel. Pøbel means a mobster or hooligan. Ramp comes from lower German and indicates what remains unsold when new goods are placed out for sale. It indicates the lowest quality product usually with some serious flaws. So a ramp is an undesirable person no parents would want as their son or daughter. Usually ramp are causing havoc in the neighborhood with their bad behavior. E. g. by doing hærverk (vandalism) to other people's property. You can also expect a ramp to bully other kids and trying to lure them into doing bad things like stealing. Ramp is rarely used in Norwegian now, but was more common in 1981 when Bjørge Lillelien used the term. Ramp has spawned an adjective called rampete like in "Han er en rampete gutt". This means "he is a mischievous boy". So a ramp is a mischievous person. Calling Phil Neal a ramp is just hilarious. Of course he wasn't. It was just that the tackle looked a bit bad. Bjørge Lillelien was known for being a chauvinist so all actions against Norwegians were seen as bad in his mind. Still, Bjørge was a awesome reporter. He mostly worked for radio and not TV. Norwegian viewers often turned off the TV sound and turned on Bjørge on the radio. He could make the most boring football match sound like a legendary fight. I'm sure he could have reported how paint was drying and made it so fun to listen to people would turn on the radio for it. We haven't had a more legendary reporter in Norway since Bjørge Lillelien. He was dearly missed when he died too young. He is Norway's equivalent to the legendary F1 reporter Murray Walker.
