My productions and mixdowns changed drastically when I started to use high, low pass and EQ on every channel.

my point is to make actions consciously, not just by default. if hipass on every track helped you - that's great

I think a little of everything is good. Buy a good hardware synth because sometimes you just want to play, but you also want a proper keybed because everything revolves around that. Buy a good DAW, you need robust recording tools. Having Bitwig with the grid can do a ton! Expand with a few plugins for the classic sounds. At this point, the user is the limiting factor.
@AntonAnru6 күн бұрын
the point is that you as a creator should be happy with the tools. if it's a DAW built-in bundle - it's totally fine. I just like third-party stuff more
@Andrew-rz7qt6 күн бұрын
I started putting my money into instruments instead of plugins a few years ago now. Ableton plugins are great.
@AntonAnru6 күн бұрын
why not plugins?
@Andrew-rz7qt6 күн бұрын
@AntonAnru I think I have everything I need and it's the end results that matter, no listener is going to know what plugin you used.

DAW doesn't matter. put a vst synth on one track, the second on the other. add delay to the second, and tweak the second synth parameters. Original track is dry, it plays a melody. The second track has 100% wet delay.
@craigsurette34387 күн бұрын
One of my favorite ways of using this is to have one arp set to a standard plinky sequenced type sound at 1/16 or 1/8th notes, and to layer that with a pad sound, with an arp set to the lowest setting my arp goes to <whole noes, 4 bars, or whatever> Playing a simple chord progression thus creates both my moving arppeggiated patterns, as well as an always changing pad accompaniment that is always in key with what else i am doing.
@AntonAnru7 күн бұрын
That's a good point

God if it only had patch memory. The question how much would it take to not lose sound quality but add patch memory. This synth sounds so good. It will be fun to get really good at spontaneously quick morphing from patch to patch.
@AntonAnru10 күн бұрын
Patch memory doesn't influence on sound quality. It you need memory you can check other analog synths like Moog

I like to use the other view for live performance. Just using a keylab 25 midi controller I find l can still have control over parameters and jam live as well as trigger scenes.
@AntonAnru12 күн бұрын
that wasn't a pure live, the midi clips in the demos were already made, I just tweaked ModWheel and Macros to show their work
