No, Snipe do the drumming, Woodcock do the roding 👍🏻

@@jasoncoppock7216 Not where I come from, so presumably the name varies regionally. The last thing that it sounds like is drumming.

Ah yes regional variations would explain it 👍🏻 In the U.K its always been drumming Snipe, but whatever its called, its a fantastic sound isnt it!
@birdie15852 ай бұрын
@@jasoncoppock7216 It is a most wonderful noise, as wonderful as curlew, or golden plover, or even the gwock-gwock of a raven, or how about chough...............too many wonderful sounds of wild and undisturbed places to mention, even red grouse. Nightjar? I have been out just once in a recognised site for them, trying to hear woodcock, but heard nothing

What a great video! Which specific Naturetrek trip did you join? You inspired me tremendously!

A great cameo into the birdlife that one might encounter in Norway! This was an exceptionally good presentation because the majority of the birds featured were identified for the listener; something that is not always the case.

What is the bird at 4:43 seconds? Is it a juv fieldfare?

I enjoyed this video immensely. As a previous commenter eluded to, your sparse narration allows the viewer to really enjoy the beautiful imagery presented and the whole video tells a story of your amazing trip and brings the viewer along with you. No doubt a lot of work went in to the shooting and editing of this video. Thank you for sharing.

How can you separate females from males at this age?

I'm not sure you can? Although lots of folk are more knowledgeable than me and might be able to answer your question 👍🏻

very nice even if the image quality was not the best. Spring in the nordic countries is on of the best things. Espasially in the nothern part and in like april/may when the snow and ice starts to melt. I have been in a place called " luspebryggan" in may, 40km west of gällivare, and that was one of the best days of my life. The big lake had a lot of migrant birds and the mountains in the background was just amazing.

What a fantastic documentary! Great work. I really like how you insert landscape shots here and there to stabilise the pace and set the scene. This adds so much to the quality of any documentary. Many of your shots are so atmospheric too, and that's a bonus! I also like the fact that your narration is sparse, and that makes me actually pay attention to what you say when you do speak. Again, great work. I have subscribed. Happy birding!

Great birds, and thanks for your wonderful films! Didn't know so much about Lesvos, but we certainly got inspired to go birding there after watching your films. Have you been back more recently? Is it still as magical? 😍
