The fact that martino plays the same lick 2 times around and that's still not the coolest part of this performance goes to show that this is probably the best jam ever recorded

The simplest jazz blues but played by the finest musicians becomes the most advanced and beautiful thing to listen to.

Sorry, I never check posts because I play for my moods. At times, I try to pierce together what it is that drives, at least musica lartists to be whatever they are, that is creators in all manner of situations and bring joy for years to whoever cares to explore.

My dad held these two men up to the highest regard. It has taken me 71 years to see why. Class and character were built into his belief.

I love this so much! They are so charming, Oscar such a gentle and funny conversationalist and Basie just wry and on point. ❤

The man starts the show tearing it up then sits in the chair and smoothly talks to the audience. No cuts. What a monster.

Jumping in the Woodside....The bassist and drummer's heads were on a swivel, like watching a ping pong match, as they were relishing the moment and trying to stay on top of which was on the lead melody. JOYFUL to hear & watch!
