@@terryholdenuk Professional chefs cut themselves too. Virtually all of them have had it happen. And some of them do the wear cut-resistant gloves, for this reason.

I sharpened all my knives today and discovered that I have a Mac superior 8 inch chef knife. I must’ve picked it up at a thrift shop somewhere and forgotten that I had it. I put an edge on it and immediately recognized this is different from my Henckels; probably the best knife I own.

This interview is openhearted, honest and unpretentious. Monica, with your kiwi roots, you have made a difference in the culinary world. Yes, the fish and vegetables in Aotearoa ( NZ) are indeed a feast in the pallet. And certainly different to the Northern Hemisphere. Proud to be 'coached' through the screen by you.

Stupid. Good way to take your knuckles off.
@Lars15407 жыл бұрын
WTF did that prove exactly!? The guy says that he "took a bit of his knuckle off" cutting so fast... First, you could do this with ANY sharp knife, the fact that it was a MAC knife made no difference whatsoever. Second and more importantly, why in hell would anyone want or NEED to cut like this? It's foolish and clearly dangerous when the professional even says he took his knuckle off! Just stupid if you ask me.

He also didn’t wash it before cutting it. And then to leave some of your hide on the cutting board to get mixed in with someone’s salad; anyone care to guess why I don’t eat at restaurants any more?

He cut himself because of nerves I'm sure and this is how chefs cut. How did you find yourself watching this video if you don't know the speed a kitchen requires? Also its just a friendly publicity stunt for a little marketing value obviously it proves nothing but its just a fun comp to raise up the chefs and the knives..
@italianboy094 жыл бұрын
@@walterkersting1362 firstly those seedless cucumbers get washed and then sealed in the plastic so washing isn't necessary and second did you see him making a damn salad know cause that's not what hes doing. It's a speed competition. That's like watching a weight lifter do a deadlift and drop the weight and walk off and complain about him not putting the weight back on the rack and how that's why you don't go to the gym anymore
