Karen is my second cousin. I spent every summer with her and my Aunt and Uncle in Tennessee when I was a kid. These are my happiest child hood memories.

These folk songs can be altered. There are multiple lyrics to this one. Even here, Tex said " If you know anymore, you can sing it yourself"

The dude was from Ottumwa and from I know got his start playing on public broadcasting shows. You can still find copies of his old private label LPs and 45s floating around this area that were pressed under the label 2-J Ottumwa I've found 2/3 of his full albums and a gospel single while crate digging in junk shops

I didn't believe in love at first sight 'til you walked in that night When my eyes met yours it took no time at all 'Cause right then and there i knew I fell in love with you There was nothing i could do stop the fall And i fell Like a penny in the wishing well Like a prince in a fairy tale Who woke up in a beautiful dream that just came true I fell, in love with you I swore I'd never fall in love again But somehow forever always ends When you take the chance girl, that's the chance you take There was nothing i could do To hold me back from loving you When your lips touched mine i felt the whole world change Yes i did I fell Like a penny in a wishing well Like a prince in a fairy tale Who woke up in a beautiful dream that just came true I fell, in love with you I fell Like a penny in a wishing well Like a prince in a fairy tale Who woke up in a beautiful dream that just came true I fell, in love with you I fell In love with you

There's version of this with the lyrics froggy would a wooing go but sang to this exact tune but I cannot find it anywhere? It's like a mashup of the two different versions froggy would a wooing go plus froggy would a courtin. Does anybody know what I'm talking about or am I creating a false memory. I distinctly remember this tune but the song is much longer and eventually a lily white duck come swallow him up. Froggy that is. 😂 Would really like to track this song down from my childhood. 😁
