Very informative video, valuable for people who can't visit in person or visit during this time of year. And I have to see it is very different from the autumn in my imagination!

I don’t like the term “invasive” to me it’s either helpful or harmful to the environment

You do know you can eat the stems right? They are native to Chile and here we eat them all the time just make sure you take the newer stems because the big ones are quite bitter and tough :) The way to eat them is peel the prickly skin and you can eat them raw as a salad!

There’s a tiny little park in the Northern Lake District, can’t remember the town, but just a stream that feeds a pond and these monsters. There is signs everywhere about not touching the plants, likely to prevent people from taking cuttings or damaging the plant in any way, and it looks as if it is contained to a certain square footage likely for the reason this man stated about not letting it spread due to the legal side. Still, it’s a magical little patch of exotic nature in the heart of the north
