you have the same problem I had ...you would be better investing in a real british army dpm basha, they are bigger and more versatile, when starting out you learn from your mistakes and pick up tips from vids on KZbin. ..I'm at the point where I need to learn knots for quick release tieing to trees etc..one knot iv learned for a ridge line is called a prusic knot ( not good spelling lol) but good on you brother for becoming a prepper it's wisdom to become one and wisdom to learn and practice your skills, peace be with you and may The Most High bless your journey 👍

Good job sir. Glad to see you got out. Keep going, practice makes perfect. Next time tough it out in the 🌧️ rain- that's a more realistic situation, more life like. - pile up lots of leaves about 30 cm's high at the very least then stake down the ground sheet over top of them. - never add the stated amount of water to those freeze dried meals - get out a few times a month and the clumsiness will subside and your skills will grow. - keep watching KZbin videos and continue to further your knowledge. - new subscriber I'll be watching, cheers.

ALL of those electronics in that faraday bag will be destroyed if there is an emp. Don't believe me? Try this...unlock your phone screen then grab the faraday fabric, touch any part of that fabric you're holding to your phone screen and you'll see that it will operate it. Therefore proving current will pass thru that faraday fabric and into anything TOUCHING the fabric, faraday bags should have liners in them to separate the electronics from touching the fabric, but the cheap amazon stuff doesn't have it and they will fail. Of course these thousands of people who think those cheap bags will work have a rude awakening coming, but it will be far too late by that point to do anything about it. Check out the faraday bags I make if you want something that will actually do the job it claims it can.....

I used to have this knife knife, but the Bear Grylls version. The knife itself is comfortable, and fairly tough. The sheath sucks and will break with use, although if you are careful with it then it could last. It splits at the entrance. It will lose retention and you will have to begin relying on the velcro retention tab at the top of the sheath. The sharpener is a good idea, but it needs a cover so the diamond dust doesn't wear off. The system is comfortable to use, and will withstand a moderate amount of abuse. It can take an edge well, but won't hold one very well. That's ok since it has a sharpener. A minor annoyance at best. Whoever decided to place a firesteel, arguably you 2nd most important tool, upside down with ZERO actual retention, owes me about $7 to replace the one that fell out of my sheath. Other comments have suggested putting a ranger band on the firesteel, and I would quadruple that sentiment. Especially if you plan on keeping this knife. All in all, 15 year old me learned so much with this knife that I will always have a soft spot for it. But I did learn so much that I will never purchase another one for any reason other than sentiment. I hope it serves you well, and I hope you learn as much as I did while using it. It really isn't a bad knife to start with. You already have a mora, a hatchet, and a laplander, so you are set with knives. A most excellent start.

Excellent watch, I always enjoy seeing what others prepare for! A few thing I would recommend, a space blanket for extreme temperatures. Something similar to a hiking kit, definitely items like a compass with mirror, physical local and surrounding area maps (+ knowledge on how to utilize them) and a topical medicinal cream for minor scrapes. Infection of a minor injury can be a serious killer in a serious situation!

Good stuff. I'm in Canada and unlike most people I have no intention of bugging out into the wilderness. Especially since I'm 75 years old and that would be very difficult . Half the year it's freezing cold and unless you are an extreme expert you're going to perish. Just like you I like to keep myself prepared for emergencies however I want to stay Within the population and just move to a different town city or province find somewhere else to start life over again if the place where I am living is no longer habitable

Great video, if I may share some thoughts for your consideration. Those head torches are great for the price £4 Homebargains cob, I've used for bushcraft and camping for years and both my daughter's used for their DoE bronze, silver and gold. Mid-sized round/hex prybar, your small bolt cutter and some homemade shims (easy to learn and use for bypassing padlocks) would save weight over flat bar, small bar, hammer and big bolt cutters. The flat bars are more nail pullers and for prying floorboards. Either Hultafors Heavy Duty (£10) or Bahco Wrecking knife (£10-20) both bombproof and can be used for prying. Those yellow bags are generally used for contaminated waste (human bodily fluids etc). Add some water incase you get stuck somewhere having to wait for a threat to pass. Eye protection? Please don't take my thoughts as criticism, you've obviously put thought into your bag and like I said before Great Video.

On a knife review, you should first evaluate if it is properly sharpened and note that. If it isn't excellent, then sharpen it before continuing with tests. That was NOT sharp on the non-serrated area because it would not cut paracord without extreme force. I would not go into the field with the knife in that condition.
