I was hoping you would put this out there again. I listened to it so many times on FB and it's not there anymore. Nice job!

Your version is very very smooth, like a freight train running... Thank you! / Wondering about the fine guitar. Looks like a wider than even classical guitar neck. Soft baritone-y sound, love it. Is that just the angle making it appear wide? 🙏

Your daddy (pops) IS a war baby, born five weeks before D-Day and still kickin'!! And, I agree with the comments -- You are a gift. Sending love...

Jim Croce was my 1st cousin and we were very close!! This song was one of the only ones he did not write! It was written for the movie "Last American Hero" and Jim was chosen by the producer to sing it!! After hearing the lyrics, he was excited because his Dad had died before he became famous and the lyrics meant something to him!! As well, Jim's son AJ sang the song for a Goodyear Commercial!! Thank you for your nice performance!!

Thank you! It's strange of me to choose a song Jim didn't write, but so many folks have no idea that he was not the author of this one. I wrote about my relationship this song in the blog: playitlikeitsmusic.substack.com/p/singalong-002-i-got-a-name

Nick Drake would have appreciated this straightforward rendering. Imagine the hang-on-to-dear-life moment Nick would have experienced if he would have received the slightest indication that others could find themselves in his songs, reappropriating those as readers do with a good novel.
