I have an original one made of brass. I only use bees wax candles they evaporate and do not drip or fog your glass up! Bought a new one and the quality is crap! Obviously a corporation bought them.out and found out how to cheaply make them! Do not buy!

Just an FYI, local Scouts Canada groupsblease that land and have established campsites there, that is probably the site you found. I am camping there next weekend, sotha ks for the video, it really helped.

My base always gets the melted wax on the bottom and it makes it hard to unscrew, also the spring gets melted amongst the wax and won’t come off - so how do you get your spring and base clean for the next usage?
@OldBastardOutdoors
@OldBastardOutdoors 6 ай бұрын
Good question. I soak it in boiling water. The wax floats to the surface and the spring and case clean for the next use. Hope this helps

Beeswax candles do not mess up your glass and will not drip all over the lantern! Stay away from paraffin candles that are sold for it!

YES!!! They're also great inside the mitten part of flip open fingerless glove / mitten combo things (idk the proper term) but the sticky aspect works great so they dont fall out. Also cheaper to get a box from Costco.

That's a fair question, and you really don't have to light up a large. I'm just letting folks know that this candle lantern won't either way. Personally, I don't read at night, so it's good for my situation. Thanks for watching.

On the website of anevay they state it the following: "The stove should not have a grid at the base - our Frontier has been designed to accommodate a log fire, which likes a bed of ash and should not have air fed from underneath."
@OldBastardOutdoors

I have also found that without the grid, it has a poor air flow with my experience, but thanks for the tip. Cheers
@TavernierTube

@@OldBastardOutdoors I also initially bought the grid when i bought the frontier, now i'm trying it without the grid, I currently have no clue what's best, depending on weather, dry wood and the opening of the chimney is also a big influence, the grid makes sense though

Hello! I'm looking into camping at either the south or north granite ridge trail. I've never done either, which would you say is better for camping?
@OldBastardOutdoors
@OldBastardOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, I'm just seeing this. From what I have done there are one 1 established campsite on either trail. The north Granite, if starting from the top, you hike until you find the small foot bridge. Turn right and hike down the hill and you will come to a still water known as the Meadows pond. On south Granite I camping at the lookout. Really only room for 1 tent, and a very high cliff face that your sleeping ontop of. You could pass this area and you may find some spots on the south but no really established spots. Just remember to tread lightly. Oh and have fun. Cheers
