Did you ever put in a voltage reducer for your 12 volts from the 36 volt bank or did you continue to use just the 2 problem batteries to get your 12 volts for accessories figure out the problem hmm

Hello here's what I did I replaced my 6 volt batteries with 3 - 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries I purchased at Walmart $380.00 and it works great the golf cart is much lighter and seems faster I also got rid of that heavy ezgo charger and replaced it with the Schumacher charger, I have had my golf cart since the early 90's and was recently getting ready to replace the 6- 6 volt batteries until I found out how much they have increased in price $1100.00 from a few years ago at $700.00, you just hook the 3 -12 volt batteries in sequence just like the 6 volt, this also gives you more room under the seat for storage, so when I did this project I also replaced the battery carriage that was close to being rusted away and I fabricated a new carriage out 2 x 2 inch angle iron and expanded metal, hope folks can use this info because since Biden stole the presidency everything has tripled in price.

That he did! I have always wondered if 3-12v would do the same. I've been looking for some that has done this. Thank you!

@timothynovak18735 жыл бұрын
The problem is for anyone experiencing this is if the battery gets down too low, that is why the Charger does not kick on so you never want them to get too low or else the only way to do that is with a car charger. You can charge them in pairs with the 12V charger. The ModZ Max36 charger has a trickle charge built in which would prevent this from happening. It is pricier but I think it will be well worth it.

That distilled water did not ruin your battery. If you have 1 cell that gets low , it is a bad cell. All the cells should take the same amount of water. Replace the one battery with low voltage and you will be good to go.Here's a hint, the key is charging at 36 volts all batts need to be even. New replacement will be different. Take your 6 volt charger and charge each battery to peak, before you do the 36v normal charge........

equalize them , ezgo chargers do not equalize , and use a desulfator, a cheap one off amazon worked great on my trojan 105 , im no nothing but my batteries are 7 yrs old started giving me issues so i researched all of the fru fru crap and quit listening to you tube idiots and contacted trojan and research my ezgo charger. you must equalize DC batteries once a month and the addition of desulfator while charging brought my batteries back . since ive started this regiment they get better n better. also check your cables what may look good could be garbage. you should also get a hydrometer to test batteries , check trojan site for info . what happens is electrolyte settles to bottom of battery and sulfation occurs . so from what i understand the desulfator and equalization is key. not sure but my golf cart runs like new batteries again. and i spent 20 bucks on a desulfator and i also do the same with my bass boat tm batteries . your issue with distilled water is bs use a tds meter and determine how much solids are in it. not saying the label on your water is a lie but thats how america rolls these days just lie and its ok. distilled is distilled salt molecules cannot transfer during this process. but a tds meter will tell you if it is truly distilled and that info you can find like i did. and im sure someone will call me out but i talked to trojan and my friend has built batteries at interstate for 39 yrs . they know not youtube liars. and dont ever try too save your batteries with epsom salt. thats a myth. also use around a 4 mah desulfator the older higher mah ones can damage plates. old practice was throw 60 amp charge to them to turn sulfates back to a liquid but it can damage plates.. some make it some dont. watched the whole process at interstate where they recycle batteries . find a charger with recondition mode 2012 and up . but a desulfator and balance once a month works . i too searched for the truth ,,, its not on youtube lol . why you got a crap charger with golf cart, well american greed yep its rampant , then obama shuts down our last lead smelting plant so we can endure even more greed by importing batteries or lead to make them . its all about lying to make more money. then charge more for the product . boy does our country need a slap in the face but no let them bend you over instead. its sad thanks dems hope you got more kick backs to fill your pockets. by the way crown makes a good battery thinner plates is all .

On your 1st video troubleshooting your battery vs battery charger. The auto battery charger that you used showed the needle sitting at around 3. That 3 is not Volts its Amps. When a battery charger is showing 3 amps it means it is close to the end of the charging cycle. Usually a higher amp reading at the beginning of the charge cycle means that the battery is depleted and its literally sucking up the 6amps and storing it in the battery. So at the beginning of your charge the meter on your auto battery charger will be high (above 6 amps) and as it charges many hours later you'll see the amp reading going down as the battery is slowly matching the charge in amps and pushes back on the charger slowing down the input charge. Anything less than 2amps and you are in trickle charge mode toping off your battery keeping it fully charged when the cart is parked and unused. The voltage reading you take with your multi-meter of the battery indicates how many volts are pushing these amps. That voltage reading from the battery should be over 6.7volts if its a healthy battery and under if it can't quite store a full 100% charge. But the real indicator of the health of a battery is when you take a the specific gravity reading with a hydrometer. The hydrometer is like a turkey baster that can measure the strength or specific gravity of the battery acid. If the reading goes below say the 1225 then that cell is not quite up to par. There might be different readings between each cell. And you can repair each cell by dropping some epson salt in the cell and continue charging the battery. The amount of epson salt you put in should be equal in each cell, say the same amount 1 to 3 teaspoons in all 3 cells and refilled with water that has the least amount of particles. (faucet water is alright) For the epson salt to work it can take months to determine whether the epson salt did anything. But you will notice that the epson salt will clean the cells and the cells may lose the rust look giving the appearance that it is working. But it takes months up to a year and a half to give you any idea whether the epson salt worked. Then you must check specific gravity to observe any improvements. Oh by the way I use water straight out of the faucet just because its convenient an I don't believe that distilled water in anyways is better. In your 1st video it was obvious that you didn't understand volts vs amps and how their relationship indicates a healthy or sick lead acid battery. But the true test of a lead acid battery is by using a hydrometer. As a farmer I'm surprised that you don't know that? I learned about hydrometers when I was in the 8th grade in an electronics shop class and learned more about battery charging when I worked at a gas station part-time while in high school. I hope this helps.

You've probably been told already, but that gauge on your "car battery" charger reads DC Amps, not volts. So, as you were thinking it was showing only 2 volts, it was actually showing it charging at 2 AMPS worth of current at 6 volts. Which would be correct because it starts the charge at 6 Amps at 6 volts, then drops the AMPS down gradually as the battery takes the charge. Therefor, 5.5 volts would be about right for a 2 amp charge at 6v because it's almost completely charged.
