Hey there great video, the Soulou is a black Lable tend, right? So it seems like both can handle with wind speeds of round about 80 miles per hour ... im German and just understood that it was quite windy Do you think it was the limit of the akto?

Unfortunately the akto really isn't great in high winds. That single pole design just isn't stable enough and the tent deforms rapidly.

Can't believe this Paul, thanks for making this video, I knew he deleted his channel, but to hear he has passed away, he came here to my house, we camped in Snowdonia, two nighter, he was on a sort of road trip heading south, I filmed our wild camps, had a great laugh, great guy, always enjoyed a joke. This video is fake holliwood movie. Good acting and camera angles. At 7:42 you can clearly see a light breeze and wind speed is 5’58 miles per hour. Only worlds craziest people would camp in 85.5 miles per hr winds. Delta ground ancors are solid though and saved the tent.

@@Saltfly Looks like you're right... I've recently bought an Omnilite Ti with silencer myself. Works very well. Contrary to Primus recommendations, I run it on kerosene/paraffin with the silencer. It requires higher fuel pressure than petrol and i have to simmer it after preheating to get it running properly. Can't wait to test it in winter.
@Saltfly2 жыл бұрын
@@lag_profil that sounds very similar to the optimus Polaris I use. I also have a silencer from quiet stove, and I can get it to work with paraffin but doesn’t seem to burn as clean as white gas. It would work in a pinch. I’ve been looking at this omnilite ti for a bit. My stove is getting old. With the regular flame spreader, does that stove pulse or chug? Like a helicopter hovering in camp? Or is it just loud?
@lag_profil2 жыл бұрын
@@Saltfly I've only tried the standard flame spreader on 75-100% power so I have no idea how it simmers. But as far as I know, roarer burners usually don't simmer as well as silent burners. They tend to pulse and cool themselves down when simmering.
@oldgoat88614 жыл бұрын
Your doing it WRONG Sir, The silencer is for butane/propane, ultra refined white gas is OK too....SILENCER IS.NOT FOR...GASOLINE/Kerosine/Diesel/Aviation. Liquid dirty fuels (no silencer) vrs clean gaseous vapors (with silencer). You just unscrew the silencer from the burner and stow it away. After turn the valve and allow a bit of fuel in the burner base. Light it and just preheat for about 45 seconds to a minute, than fire it up. Regardless of manufactures of multifuel stoves.....ALL must be clean as periodically utilizing petrol (dirty fuels) by cleaning valves/needles/soot periodically.
@lag_profil Жыл бұрын
My Omnilite with silencer works well. The difference is that I preheat mine properly. This guy is clueless.
@theflobro967 ай бұрын
@@lag_profil could you specify pre heating properly? I run into the same problem. Never had this problem with other liquid fuel stoves.
@lag_profil7 ай бұрын
@@theflobro96 Really? You just burn a stream of liquid fuel? The fuel needs to be vaporized using heat. Squirt out a bit of petrol and then close the spindle or pour a bit of alcohol to soak the pad with the spindle closed. Light this preheating fuel on fire while the spindle is still closed and wait till it's almost burnt out and then carefully open the spindle slowly until the flame is roaring steadily.

The calcium carbonate burned (or ‘calcined’) was commonly limestone or chalk, but occasionally other materials such as oyster or egg shells were used. They used the lime for mortar enjoyed this loads man ........ hope your well
