Holly, thank you for giving a name to my experience. I blamed myself for my entire life. I am 62. I was a willing victim. I was not lured away from home, or kidnapped, I left on my own willingly, and have lived the guilt for decades. I am somewhat better now after some therapy in my 30’s, but not till YOU did I really grasp my childhood, and what happened. It is hard to internalize that I was a VICTIM, and that it is not my fault. I’m still trying to get over it, and move on. Thank you!! I want to give you a hug... ((((( Holly ))))). Even now, I wish I knew how to make the guilt go away. The guilt of choosing to go, to stay gone, to go back (repeatedly) after being arrested. Is there a way to make it go away? How can I finally be free of those childhood choices? You’re right, those images of restrained girls make it look like they are being forced and are a major reason I still blame myself. No one forced me, I made the decisions, and I am still suffering the consequences today. I can only hope that my family, my children never see this confession.

Wow. A powerful and sobering story on a subject that is all too under-recognized. Thank you so much for all that you do. The healing ripples of true care will surely transform the lives of many, alleviating and preventing so much suffering. I'm humbled to be a part of this rising of awareness and to assist this world as much as I can in healing. Thanks again for the bravery, compassion, and inspiration, it is soul rocking. Namaste.

Since CHW has become Dignity...the organization is slipping profusely due to increased mismanagement from the top to the 2nd tier middle managers....
