Im a highschooler who has been out on injury for about a year now. We went to the doctors right after my injury occured and didnt diagnose me with anything, but said they were going to go ahead with a treatment plan. After 2 months of no contact, they said they were going to shoot my back up with a steroid injection meant for elderly people and wouldnt hear anything against it. After 5 months, we got a second opinion at St Louis and they diagnosed with a pars fracture. For context, this is SUPER common in teens, especially athletes. There is ZERO reason for steroid injections, doing so is medicaly unnecessary. Turns out, they were trying to milk our insurance out of thousands of dollars with no thought toward my well being. Always get a second opinion and always go to a good hospital for serious injuries or ailments.
