I'd love to take one of these and add a small modern inline 4 from like a mustang or a pinto with a 5 speed manual, hydraulic brakes and that's it. Then I'd drive the wheels off it.

Look for a Shay reproduction Model A. They were built in the early 1980s with the Pinto 2.3l 88hp engine, 4 speed manual or 3 speed automatic.

That is one super great deal! The dog I mean! Oh, the car is just a great piece of engineering. I remember my dad having one, I learned to drive in one. Love the spark adjuster, the idler, great 4 banger. Oh, im77 and this car you have built is a super great machine. Nobody thinks the 4 bangers can be built for horsepower, but they can! i dont know why it is a 190cc but its slow ... on top of that 5th gear feels like a drag.. i feel like it should have a 6th gear ! and the bike is screaming all the time ..

I love Model As. Had a '30 tudoor in my youth. Notice at 2:21 bandaged leg. Could be from working around hot engines in shorts. I have not been able to find those steel toed shower shoes. But then they've got the car and I don't. So I guess they can do as they please. Thanks for the vid, guys.

I wonder if you could tell me how to get a motorcycle license in Beijing? Where do you need to go and what’s the process like?

Ok, so first, an important question: Do you already have a driver's license with motorcycle endorsement from your home country? If yes, than the process isn't too difficult. The DMV office is on the southeast 4th ring road. You need to bring your driver's license and a translation of it, passport with valid visa for longer than 90 days, accommodation registration form, medical examination from a local hospital, and one inch photos. You schedule an exam date and time, then turn up at the same office and take the written exam which is offered in many languages. practice exams are available on the internet... just search "Chinese driving test" and you'll find it. If you don't have a driver's license, you can enroll in the driving school, but from what I understand it's only offered in Chinese. The alternative is to visit your home country and get your license and then come back here and do the written test. also, I have heard that you can go to Korea and get a license there and then come here to get the Chinese license... but I don't know if that still works. Hi! I bought it new from a dealership and the total out the door cost (including licensing, mandatory insurance, etc) was about 18,000 RMB. I imagine that the model has come down a bit from that price. It was a brand new model when I bought it. Now Honda has a dual sport option as well.

Wait you're in Beijing? I'm wanting to get a motorcycle there. How are police on these things in the city? Do i need a plate? Licence? Nice bike by the way. I've had one of these before, they are called the "hawk" in the states ;)

Yup, in Beijing. Yes, you should get a license. Yes, you should get a plate (the shop will take care of the plate for you). Police usually don't check, but occasionally they do road blocks, crackdowns, etc. It's easy to get a Chinese license if you already have your US license. Thanks for checking out my videos!
