The closest Romanization of the Korean word "눈" is "nun", and the pronunciation of the Korean consonant "ㄴ" is represented as "n", but it cannot be said to be 100% identical. In any language, it is impossible to perfectly translate sounds into another foreign language, so it is likely that "ㄴ" sounded like "d" to you. :)
