For the questions with ..어디 있어요?can you use 이/가 instead of 은/는?
@FastKorean-lq2kc
@FastKorean-lq2kc 4 күн бұрын
Thank you for your question! The fact that you're asking about '은/는' and '이/가' shows that you've already studied a lot of Korean. 😄 The distinction between '은/는' and '이/가' can be tricky for Korean learners because this concept doesn’t exist in English. It’s one of the hardest aspects of Korean grammar for many students. To answer your question: → "Replacing '은/는' with '이/가' is grammatically correct, but the meaning can change depending on the situation." Let’s compare '우유는' and '우유가.' 1. 우유는 어디 있어요? (Where is the milk?) Meaning: You're asking about milk in general or the category of milk. For example: At a supermarket, if you're trying to find the milk section, you say: "우유는 어디 있어요?" → It means: "Where can I find milk in general?" It’s not about one specific milk carton. You’re asking about all milk or the milk section. 2. 우유가 어디 있어요? (Where is ‘the’ milk?) Meaning: You're asking about a specific milk. For example: If someone told you to grab the milk from the fridge, but you can’t see it, you say: "우유가 어디 있어요?" → It means: "Where is the milk (I need to find)?" Here, you’re asking about a particular milk that should already exist somewhere. Other example: “카페는 어디 있어요?” General: Asking about any cafe or cafes in general. → "Where can I find a cafe?" "카페가 어디 있어요?" Specific: Asking about a particular cafe that you already know exists. → "Where is the cafe (you mentioned)?" Tip to remember: Use "은/는" for general questions. Use "이/가" when asking about something specific.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. 😍 I believe you're referring to the example sentences related to the grammar from the Korean Short Stories series. I'm glad to hear that the grammar explanations and example sentences were helpful. Lately, I've been focusing more on making conversation-style videos rather than Short Stories because it seems like many learners prefer learning through conversations. I will include more example sentences related to the grammar and sentence structures that come up in the conversations, to make the videos even more helpful. Thank you!😊

Thank you for your valuable feedback.:) I was aware that there is an opinion that Romanization may not accurately match Korean pronunciation and could even hinder the learning process. That's why I had some reservations about using it. However, I included Romanization because some beginner students need it, and it can help them get familiar with Korean pronunciation in the early stages. I plan to remove Romanization for viewers who don't want it and include it separately at the end as a reference for those who need it. I hope this method will be helpful to viewers. :) 😊

Gracias por su comentario. Lamento que la velocidad de las frases en coreano haya sido demasiado rápida y difícil de seguir. En este video, usé una velocidad cercana a la del coreano cotidiano porque está dirigido para su uso en tiendas, pero entiendo que para los estudiantes puede resultar complicado. La próxima vez, hablaré más despacio. Tengan en cuenta que pueden ajustar la velocidad en la configuración de este video. :)

03:57 - the word for eye or snow is "nun". But when I hear pronunciation it sounds more like "dun" where pronouciation "d" itself is "the". Its not with narrator of this video but also with every other. Is there a grammer rule that coverts "n" to "d" ("the")?
@FastKorean-lq2kc
@FastKorean-lq2kc 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching the video and leaving your question. :) First of all, there is no grammatical rule that converts "n" to "d". The closest Romanization of the Korean word "눈" is "nun", and the pronunciation of the Korean consonant "ㄴ" is represented as "n", but it cannot be said to be 100% identical. In any language, it is impossible to perfectly translate sounds into another foreign language, so it is likely that "ㄴ" sounded like "d" to you. :)
