So I had to stop to watch the news like old people do. I don't feel like an old people. And then I watched some other things and then I remember that I was still watching this so I had to come back and finish. You're evacuating and they're sending your husband back but you don't know when he's coming and you have to meet him whenever he shows up and that's going to mess with the schedules and you're so calm. Wow! But it looks like you also did Ian. Oh boy. We kind of got to miss Ian I think. Well it rained. It was a little windy maybe. I forgot Idalia completely. Honestly I still don't remember it. This year Debbie was early although actually probably in the right normal time frame and then Helene and Milton 12 Days apart. I'm late in the season and maybe we'll have Sarah! Yeah half of these aren't spelled correctly and I'm going to give you the other four three of which I spelled incorrectly because the hurricane center is creative for some reason and also because Francis was a female storm. Back in 2004 my first hurricanes in Florida because we had two or maybe two and a half up in Boston - Floyd just didn't seem like a hurricane and maybe they didn't call it that and maybe it wasn't one by the time it got to us but it was one of those days in Boston where it was raining diagonally and not sideways and I had to wait for two buses and the first one was probably too early and then the one that came after it was late and then I had to change buses. So I knew it was one of those days where you just don't bother with raincoats and umbrellas and all of that because none of it is going to keep you dry. And you get a waterproof bag and you put inside a change of clothes and when you get to the place you're going, then you can change into your dry clothes. Anyway 2004 Charlie Francis Ivan and Jean. They didn't all hit us but they all threatened us and if you were in Polk county they got all of them. But Charlie was the scary one and then it turned and then Francis was the tropical storm that knocked out our power for 4 days. Did I say that was in 6 weeks? When it started we had a mother. By the time it was over we didn't and we haven't had insurance since then either. Oh well. At least we still have a place to live. So far

I forgot when we ran to take the we have this metal box Strong box that's what we always called it. And it has all the important documents and I forgot to take it. Thankfully nothing happened here. At least I remembered to take cash and medicine. We hardly ever use cash. Long ago my brother told me a story about how they wanted to get rid of MacDill and so they paid everybody's paychecks in $2 bills. They wanted to show when people went out what the impact was on the economy. At least that's what he told me. Years later I looked it up. I don't see any sign that that ever actually happened. People have been using credit cards for such a long time. Maybe it was in the '70s or something if it ever actually happened at all. It was an interesting story though.

I admit it. I took two of my pillows. And we went to a hotel. We're going to be in debt forever. But I wanted my own pillows. Usually I have three. They get really flat. But I figured they would have some there being a hotel so I just took two from the top. I can't imagine evacuating with so many kids. And you're so organized. I brought a couple books and then I realized that when terrible things are going on outside I don't care what's in some book - I just want to know what's going on now! I mean not enough to go outside though obviously. But show me some wind and rain. It's a lot more interesting than whichever book I brought. Though after Irma everyone left my house because they had cars and there was no air conditioning and I had a book which I had read before and I read 181 pages of it while I was sweltering. In one day because I had nothing better to do. I don't know why I had nothing better to do. I have ducks! Oh well.

Wow, military life. I never thought about all of the learning of the climates. I thought people moved a lot but I didn't think Oh yeah, if you live here you have to worry about hurricanes and over there it's tornadoes and somewhere else it'll be wildfires. They're even having wildfires in Massachusetts now. It's really strange. Sorry about Germany. Maybe you missed a flood. There was a flood in Poland and maybe Austria and Czechoslovakia - I'm too lazy to split that into two countries and I'm old and voice to text still remembers how to spell it properly so I'm going to leave it - and some of the countries around there. Some of my European geography is not too bad in some of it's ridiculously bad. Germany might be North west for all I know. I always thought that it was east of France. But maybe it isn't. Well it doesn't matter now. Anyway thank you for doing this for our country. Today is the day after veterans Day. I hope good things happen to you. Of course I haven't finished the video because I keep commenting so I should probably watch it. I want to say at least it's not your house but I try not to say at least, usually because it means that I am minimizing someone's problems. Yesterday my roommate finally managed to pull down the overhang that goes off the side of our shed. It's made of metal. And it ripped off almost all the way during Milton. And the man next door was outside. And he said it's going to take my head off. But then it stopped. Cuz we had put up this fence - my roommate did - to keep my male duck from attacking my 9-year-old duck. And that fence kept the overhang from flying off. Now it's tied to the back fence. It's weird because it wasn't really made of anything there was some chicken wire and some hardware cloth and a whole bunch of cable ties that held it together and up near the top I know I saw a cooling sheet. Those things that you use after you take baked goods out of the oven? So it was really cobbled together and yet it held the roof up. On one side. And one side was enough. We like our neighbor. He goes and he stands on his roof and he cuts his tree branches down. I don't think he was doing it during the storm but I don't know what he was doing outside honestly. They don't even have any animals that have to go outside during a storm like people have dogs. Actually they do have one chicken. But they made her a little house and it looks pretty safe and it's on the side of their house and it's attached. They used to have five chickens but a raccoon got most of them and the other one died of old age

I'm not really worried about this stuff blowing away. If it does it does, it's just trash anyway. We don't bring our stuff in to keep from losing it. We bring our stuff in to keep it from flying through the air and hurting someone. But it's possible you just moved here and you don't know that. Or Didn't know that before the storm. I have an unrelated story. I used to live in Salem Mass. And it was 25 years ago almost. And every time we would have a storm. Not a hurricane just a storm with wind. And it was trash day, all of the empty trash cans were plastic and they were round and they would fall over and they would roll back and forth across the street. I'm sure the people who were driving down the street really enjoyed that. But at least I guess they wouldn't fly into the side of your house like a projectile. Still it was a little bit dangerous. But not as dangerous as some other things could be. I heard that there were a lot of tornadoes. But I don't think any of them happened in Tampa. A lot of them were on the east and down towards the south I think. If one of your bikes had gotten in the street with a tornado it could have been ripped apart and things would have been flying through the air and they're metal. So spokes and handlebars could be going into the sides of people's houses or through their windows. Like I kind of said I'm from Boston and I had to learn all of this stuff after I got here. Anyway I'm just at the beginning so... We are over in Pinellas but we evacuated because I wasn't up for another multi-day power outage heat wave. It's not like I've done it as many times as some people in Florida. And we don't flood and we don't surge yet, but we left because I couldn't stand the heat another time. And then the next morning after I decided that, Dennis Phillips started sounding really serious. And there were signs that said CAT5 and he was like now is the time when we have to be strong for our families. He doesn't usually sound that serious that often. So I thought maybe there might be reasons to leave other than for being comfortable for a change. There are people in this world who dream of going on cruises or going to France. I dream of someday owning a generator. I really do. But at least we are not on the coast near the rivers or in a mobile home park. Of course things can change. Tornadoes are scary. I have a friend who said she would prefer earthquakes to hurricanes. Because they happen and then they're over and you don't have to worry about them for a week in advance.

Gyro is pork. Döner ist lamb or Chicken..never pork. So saying done is gyro in bread is wrong .
@TheaAMcCarty10 ай бұрын
In simplistic American terms when the average American who has never experienced a doner, this is the easiest comparison. Americans know gyro is *meat* shaved off of a spit and put in a pita wrap, so I don’t think it’s “wrong” to try to help draw a comparison for someone who may not have any idea what a doner is.
