Thanks for sharing. It feels like a calm and melancholic experience. Much better than getting stuck in traffic in my opinion

Thank you for your video. You should make more of them, if you dont mind my asking what are you doing in japan now? Like if you dont want to say company which field you in now. I was trying other position as an engineer but it's so hard without japanese so was trying for alt

Hi thank you very much for your comment, I recently don't make videos because it's time consuming and don't get much out of it but I will consider making more! Is there a topic you'd like to see in specific? To answer your question, I'm still teaching English at a Junior high school. I'm an alt. I don't really recommend it because of the low salary but it's also the kind of job that lets you go home early so you can have time to travel and do other things. The Visa is also pretty easy to obtain, so once you're already here I would recommend switching over to an engineering job as soon as possible because I don't think you'll feel very fulfilled with the alt position.

@@sekaijin8193 thank you for the reply. Yes I was looking at alt as an option because although as an engineer I am eligible for many position in Japan they never consider me due to my lack of Japanese skills. Also I am a mechanical engineer which is more of am on field Job unlike software engineer 😅 Hence I was thinking of alt as a way to keep maybe try to move? Yes I an aware of the low pay, but frankly asking of you are not in Tokyo it's decent enough right? If you don't mind could I ask which city you stay? Any videos about life in Japan like how to find cheap food in konbini ? (Like the discount on products after 7 p.m), cheap ways to book tickets, how to top up your suica. Mundane videos, which might help the occasional traveler or someone who is coming to Japan for first time. Also how did you learn Japanesei? Did you do it from your home country or did you learn it after going to Japan. I assume you are from USA? A video about you would be nice to 😄

@@mokisan Hi sorry for the late reply. I currently live in Yokohama which is almost Tokyo since it's so close so it's sort of about the same standard of living. But still, wages in Japan are generally low in comparison to other developed countries in the west. Thanks for your video recommendations as well! I'll definitely think about it. I usually stay away from making mundane videos because there are hundreds of other KZbinrs doing the same thing in Japan so I worry that I might not get a lot of views, hence I'll be wasting my time. But I will consider some topics for future videos. Thanks again.

Problem with meet up is that usually the organizers inflate the number of people attending by adding fake amount of "personal invitees" by the organizer. always check actual people make up the numbers.

@sekaijin8193
@sekaijin8193 2 жыл бұрын

Do you feel like having prior experience working with kids/tutoring makes a difference for the application process for these kinds of programs? or is simply having a degree makes enough of an impact to landing a job?
@sekaijin8193
@sekaijin8193 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abby, having ANY prior experience teaching or tutoring will already put you ahead of the competition. Having a degree is only a very basic requirement but not enough to make an impact of course. Personality is really the biggest factor. If you show enthusiasm during the interview, plus your prior experience with kids/tutoring then you'll be fine.

Typically the main companies people apply for are JET and Interac (for ALT jobs) and ECC, AEON, and GABA (for Eikaiwa jobs) but there are many more. What else would you like to know on how to get started?
