Muhammad Ali used to do that clinch with his left arm, he would hold the guard or shoulder, neck of his opponent to pivot with momentum to the left, while they go forward and off balance , it’s not the same, but its similar..

I know the video was recorded 3 months ago or so but is he back in Thailand full time? I know he was in Singapore most of the previous years but Id love to train given the reviews online sometime this summer
@HalfguardBerimbolos7 күн бұрын
Yes he's now back in TH full time. He was my MT teacher in SG for a few years. Everytime we forget our guard during padwork, his hand will come for our face, making us remember to keep our guard up instinctively.

@HalfguardBerimbolos I am sure he will be back visiting you guys in the future, thanks for confirming though Ubon has another high quality gym but it's femur style il definitely make a visit at lamnamoons this year

This is really helpful! I've been wondering why my lead uppercut elbow felt like it lacked power when hitting the bag compared to my horizontal elbow from the same side. Thank you !

All of the old Thai masters are absolutely fascinating individuals. It is a wonderful art and discipline, to be sure.
@danieltilahun940014 күн бұрын
thats so stupid , if your legs are on the outside you get knee straight on the groin , thats knock out , dont tink of it just as a sport think of it as a combat
@joachimcoonan625510 күн бұрын
It depends on an individual nak muays focus. Martial Arts has three distinct branches, or focuses.....Sport, Spiritual, and Combat.....Each school, art, individual martial artist etc, has its/their own focus. Saying this, I, too, believe the art should be kept battle effective. At the same time, if you go to stand bladed in the clinch, you will be hurled to the ground and head kicked in....And you can defend the groin with the knees and shins still even in the traditional clinch stance....

The area right behind your ears is wide open for a lights out Bas Rutten style palm or bone strike. It looks like a step up from the MT higher and wider position.

My favorite Dutch style is Lucian Carbin, he does lots of same side punch to kicks or kicks to punches. Dutch style has had some of the meanest strikers to ever compete

Speaking of Dutch kickboxers, has Badr Hari grown up yet? Or is he still running around like an idiot causing trouble and throwing away opportunities.
